  This is a quaint old hotel with porches overlooking the amphitheater at Chautauqua. The host and hostess Dick and Helen, are delightful people.
  The dinners are in a common area with opportunity to meet new friends, and discuss the day and evening events. This is an older building, not a Marriott; you have to be tolerant on this issue. Would go there again.

  If you are not familiar with Chautauqua, read on:
  - You will have to pay an additional fee just to enter the grounds. For me it was about 40% of the room charge. This was not made clear on the website.
  - You cannot park at the hotel. You can drop off and pick up your luggage, but you have to park about 1/2 mile away ($9/day for me). This was not made clear on the website either.
  
  My room was small: no room for a desk or a luggage rack. No closet, but a small wardrobe. The bathroom was even smaller: virtually no counter space, and neither fan nor window. Outlets at a premium.
  
  The building is old and creaky, so footsteps from the outside and room above are quite loud. The walls are thin, and I could hear the conversation in the next room.
  
  For the money, I expect a LOT better experience.

  Wonderful getaway to Western NY, a true hidden gem. My girlfriend and I made a weekend of it. Stopping at quaint candy shops and unique wineries on our way from Buffalo. The couple that runs the place was extremely accommodating from the moment we arrived in Chautauqua.
  
  VIsited Southern Tier Brewery, a must for any craft beer lovers. Dick took us on a wine tour after our massage in their spa. 100% would recommend to friends and family.

  Quaint hotel with a unique experience on the institution grounds, only a stone's throw away from the main amphitheater.
