We enjoyed the general atmosphere and amenities. It was nice to be off the busy road, only a short drive from everything. The condo units made it very easy to cook breakfast for the kids and head out for the day, then back for dinner or the sunset. We'll be back.

Very peaceful, relaxing and tranquil; listening to and watching the waves from Green Bay roll on to the shore. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nestled amonst trees just outside the hustle and bustle of Egg Harbor. Very comfortable and well cared for and maintained facilities. 😀

I stayed here many times on family vacation in the early 1970's. It was a great place to stay back then, and looks even better now!! I move to Texas in 74 and I have not been back to WI since 1985. I'd love to come for a visit!

I love staying at The Shallows. It's clean and comfortable, the people that work there are friendly and helpful and the view of the water is awesome. It's quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but an easy drive to any direction you want to go.
The only thing that I would change is the beds. They are a bit hard for my tastes, but it isn't a big deal.
I always look forward to returning to The Shallows!

The property itself is gorgeous! Right on the water. Plenty of lawnchairs. Big sand area for kids. Really nice pool with rafts , balls, and pool noodles provided. Nice rooms. Decent continental breakfast. Bikes to loan, kayaks and c a noes too. Great experience.

This is a very nice place to stay in Door County. Has a great lake view with nice rooms and a nice pool too. Everything is easily reached from here and it is off the main roads a little.

Stayed there this past weekend for 3 nights. I'll start with the positive. Pretty landscape and a nice patio for all the resort to use. Really those are the 2 things that prevented this from being a 1 star.

We expected the 70's/80's decor but we didn't expect the ONLY AC for the place to be a VERY loud wall unit in the bedroom. The bedroom we were able to get down to 72 but the rest of the suite stayed at or above 80. This was particularly Frustrating for my 7 month pregnant wife who already struggles to get comfortable. The lumpy fold out couch didn't help that either. So because of that we were secluded to the bedroom any time we were in the room.

Second, they advertised waterfront view but when we got there we were directed to "the motel" which is behind the building with the waterfront view. They also advertised a private balcony. Well, if You count throwing 2 plastic chairs in the hallway as a balcony than I guess super 8 has a balcony too.

I think we could have gotten past all of this. Hell, we were in Door County on our babymoon A place we both love and that I've gone camping in since I was 2 years old. But really what bothered us was that other than the lady at the desk saying "you can use our tennis racquets or our bycycles (remember the 7 month pregnant part?!?) no one really told us what the "resort" had to offer. Each night when we got back we'd walk around to see if there was a fire in the fire pit or really anything to do to avoid our room until it was time to go to sleep and we saw nobody and nothing going on. In the daytime we'd pass the staff and not so much as a wave or how's your stay going. We are generally happy people and little things like that go a long way.

Overall it wasn't terrible but it wasn't worth the $200/night.

Side note: this email is real it's just a business email and for some reason my phone won't let me sign into my personal to write this review.
