It's a very quaint place to visit. The rooms are lovely and we were greeted warmly. Everybody seems really nice here and we aren't that far away from shop and other places to go. It's very beautiful.

I chose this place because of the Google reviews, and i just don't get it. Everything looked so good, online. The room we were assigned was not good. It smelled of dog, and the bathroom is in need of a total remodel. For goodness sake, the wall cabinet where the refrigerator is located and the radiator cover were damaged. We put soap bars in the AC unit to try to make the place smell better.
I travel a lot for a living, and I haven't come across such a dump like this.
We were travelling around lake Michigan for the week, and this was our final, and most disappointing stop.response / report this review -

The new owners (who bought the place in February) were great, very nice and accommodating. Our room was in the lower part of the motel and was very clean and comfortable. The bonfire outside was nice in the fall air. Centrally located. We will recommend this place to all our friends.

I could have not asked for a better place to stay. So relaxing and so quiet. The room was fantastic. Located on the lower level, this king size room was pefect. The view of the woods was amazing! Service was fantastic! Will be staying here again next year! Highly recommend this place.

The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Reasonable price and pet friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Great shower. Nice backyard to have a fire and a great trail in the woods to walk your dog.

The place was awesome. We got the log cabin. The owner and staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. We loved our stay here. It is also the best pet friendly hotel I have stayed at.

Do not go here! It started with not being able to use our AAA discount. When we got there our bill was already 'made up' and they wouldn't change it to give us the discount since they said it was supposed to be done on line when we made the reservation. There is NO place on line to do so.
When we reserved the room, we wanted the 2nd floor with the balcony. When we called to double check a few weeks before hand, they said they would call back to verify. They never did. When we called two days before we were told we had the FIRST floor room. On line, the first floor rooms are supposed to have a fireplace. Ours not only didn't have a fireplace, but it didn't even look like the same room on line! It was much smaller.
When we arrived, the office was ran by 'kids' who were watching TV and the lobby was filled with laundry.
The cable went out in the middle of watching TV but the 'kids' had NO idea how to fix it, so we were without TV for hours! They barely spoke english, and even the TV settings were in spanish.
The ONLY saving grace was that it was close to the 'downtown' area. VERY Disappointing!!!!response / report this review -

A quiet little place just far enough away from the busy tourist area. Hosts are friendly and accommodating. Beds are surprisingly comfortable for a motel. The woodsy back yard area has a welcoming fire pit. A few small quirks, like some of the windows being stuck, but no big deal. Will stay again next time we're in town.

We stayed in the lodge, single queen upstairs. Cozy clean room, weak but adequate AC and overall very comfortable. Small mini fridge, bottled water and two prepackaged muffins. There were pastries for breakfast but we must have missed them.
