The rooms are beautiful and it's a very quiet and charming place. They serve a filling dinner with banana splits later if you have room. It was snowing pretty heavily so we enjoyed the hot tub in our room and the peaceful woodsy atmosphere.

Love this unique resort. Food is so good , But the banana split at the end of the day is to die ford Rooms are cozy and very clean.

It is a Beautiful place and the rooms are very nice. However, the food was lacking a lot. You were basically served the same thing every meal with the variation of 1 meat. Salad was the same every meal with heavy dressing (always the same). We actually left the grounds to eat elsewhere several times.

First of all, lovely setting. Super clean. So clean. But it's a bitodd. Don't really recommend the food. Boiled carrots, boiled green beans, box mashed potatoes, iceberg salad with only one choice of dressing. Buffet style. If you are familiar with this area of Michigan imagine bulk Russ'. No alcohol served which is fine but we were there for an anniversary weekend and would have liked wine with dinner. We had some in the room but got the feeling it would have been frowned upon had we brought it for dinner.
In sum, lovely lovely place and super clean room. But we kinda felt like the naughty kids at church camp who snuck in the beer ;)

The shack is a rustic bed and breakfast resort near White Cloud Michigan. It is a quiet place to go. If you are looking for excitement go somewhere else. If you want a place where you can sit outside or inside for that matter, look at nature, and talk with your family and friends this is the place.

There are lots of eclectic signs and ornaments throughout the resort. They say it is located in Juggville USA and throughout the grounds are caricatures of moonshine Jugs.

My wife and I loved our weekend there. The staff were helpful and friendly. Meals came with the room. Not the healthiest food, but there was plenty of it and it was no additional charge.

The Shack is my husband and I's favorite overnight destination in Michigan! The service is excellent and the place is kept in exceptional shape. The rooms and atmosphere is romantic and extremely cozy!! The beds are really comfortable with soft comforters unlike most typical hotels. The hiking trail is very pleasant and the lake is beautiful!! Defiantly the #1 place to go for relaxing.

Was here a year ago with my parents. It's a place to remember, in a good way. I wish I was with my parents right know because they're staying at the shack again right now. What really stays with me: the friendliness, the bananasplit (we arrived just in time to get one and had to eat it before registering!), the beautiful buildings with all the wood. Rooms were good and clean

Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful location in the woods on the lake front. Food is old fashioned grandma's cooking. Walking trails and museums on the grounds. Reasonably priced. Hot tub rooms available. No smoking anywhere on the grounds, which is great. Well worth the visit.
