I loved the staff very friendly. Rooms were clean. Really old historic place lots of character .
Rooms are moldy.. no cell signal, no wifi.. no restaurant or bar it stinks !!!!
I'll NEVER go back! Although beautiful, in pictures, it's in desperate need of updates and renovations. The rooms are small and some make no sense! The staff, with exception of one young man, act as though they "can't be bothered" dealing with requests. My tv remote didn't work, I took it downstairs and the young woman at the desk handed me 2 others and said "I don't know what to tell you? If those don't work you might not have one." ??seriously??!
The Historic Clewiston is not your typical, cookie cutter hotel. The staff is friendly and small. The rooms are clean and uniquely furnished. Much of the furniture throughout is antique and in excellent condition. The hotel was rebuilt in1938, after a fire destroyed the original. Don't let that fool you, there's a restroom, shower and sink in each room no outhouses. Just the quality construction of days gone by. The only things I am in want of is better internet. Not a deal breaker though. I also wish the restaurant was still open. I keep hearing how great the food was. Perhaps one day it will be feasible to reopen. If you've in the area, you can't do better than the Historic Clewiston Inn (but if you're here, you already know that. )
A fantastic place too stay. A very friendly and helpful staff
It was great, nice staff and good old Timely feeling it was very nice.
An excellent stay at the historic inn. Quiet and cozy, excellent accommodation and very close to the lake.
Extremely clean, accomodating, all essentials, refrig, microwave, morning coffee in room, lovely staff and very reasonable. Antique common room. I'll go back! Hello to Sean, Valerie, Isabelle, Eden and handyman and wife. Nice people very helpful. Thankyou.
Room had a damp feeling in the air with evidence of water damage on the walls where the paint was also chipping. The photos shown online are deceitful. While standing in the room on the phone with best western a baby roach crawled out of the sink, mind you the sink is next to the bed. Planned on staying two nights but after seeing the room we proceeded to ask for a refund, the girl at the front desk denied our request and turned around to continue fussing with her phone. Definitely will not be returning and DO NOT recommened to others.
We lived the vintage room we stayed in. They feel small since larger, modern beds are used, but it was very nice to stay here.
This place has the potential to be amazing again, but someone needs to come along and drop a ton of money into the project by fumigating and updating. Do yourself a favor and check out the hotels just north of there, I had sugar ants when I left that crummy hotel. Don't do it.
Not so bad. A/c took about 6 hours to kick in after I cleaned the filter and empty out water tray myself. Small Roaches come out at night. Shouldnt expect alot being in a small town . Shower leaked enough to sound like a relaxing waterfall. I should of posted the pics of all these complaints but naaaa Find out ya selves like we did. Happy safe travels.
Stayed in one of the rooms behind the main building. The bed was comfy. There were some tiny bugs on the nightstand but they seemed harmless and weren't bothering us. Some type of gnat, definitely not bed bugs so don't worry!
Kenny at the front desk was awesome! He gave us history lessons on the hotel and Clewiston.
The building is very old and apparently haunted :) I will definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.
