Over priced
Nothing particularly fine about it, except for the martinis. The best part about and overpriced dinner was the bread. The server was great, very patient. If I were to go back, I would try the adjacent to restaurants in the same building under the same restaurant name. Go for the lowbrow food.
Great customer service. Higher end with higher prices.
I requested the Grill Room when my husband said we are invited to dinner by a company he does business with. I would have preferred to email them this experience but their site is down so it will go in a review. We arrived on time to find one of our guest at the table already. He had not been waited on.We sat and had to wait longer than we should have to get a waiter. I have dined here in the past and had great food and service. This was not what I expect for the prices. We finally got drinks and ordered a couple of appetizers they came we shared them around the table. The mushrooms were inedible, too salty to eat. he took them back to the kitchen and came back to report we were right and they would comp them or get us something else. Then we we ordered a bottle of wine 3 of us shared the bottle others got other drinks. The waiter removed all the other wine glasses. Hello more of them wanted wine with the meal, so he had to go get more glasses for the table. The service was lacking unlike when we have been there before. ( I find no excuse for this we had a reservation not like they didn't know we were coming) 2 of our party were sick by morning after eating some of the sea food. ( one a pregnant woman) On the upside the steak was wonderful, and my vegetarian dish real good. The muscles for appetizer also very good. Service this night not so good .
I thought the food was full of salt. Our appetizers of mussels, mushrooms, lamb meatballs and tuna took over a half an hour to get to our table.5 tables only sat during the time. Our main dinner, medium rare filets, lamb shank, filet oscar, over an hour to get to our tableand VERY salty. The Filet Oscar was NOT delivered as described. There were a couple crab flakesand I mean maybe three flakes, around the salty filet. Not worth the price. I will NEVER go back. Presentation was cute.but the food was crappy. All of it.
The place to go in Grand Haven for a steak dinner. We were a little underdressed (didn't realize it was an upscale restaurant) but we were all in the mood for steak and from the looks of most other places in town, this was the only option. The food was awesome, my husband & I had the petite fillet which was delicious. I had the Brussel sprouts & he had the wedge salad, both delish. My son had the strip steak, it was good too but he said not as tender as mine was (to be expected). He had the garlic mashed, yum. The sides are a little pricey but are meant to be shared, big portions. The service was stellar. We will definitely return if we are ever back in town.
I absolutely love this place. I had the NY Strip and it was excellent! The service was great and the experience is worth another visit. Enjoy.
For my wife's birthday, we decided to drive an hour to Grand Haven for dinner. We had a 6 pm reservation at the Grill Room, but arrived 15 minutes early. The place was already packed but we were seated immediately at a comfortable booth and promptly greeted by Ben, our server.
Ben made some excellent wine suggestions and we sipped away whilst reviewing the menu.
We ordered mussels and a shrimp cocktail for starters, which were very very good. For our entrees, my wife had salmon while I had a steak, which we both agreed were as good as it gets. The large side dishes (honey-glazed carrots and whipped potatoes) were also very tasty.
To make a long story sort, I will simply say that our service was the best we have experienced. Ben was attentive but not all over us, and and our meals were prepared exactly as ordered and were simply excellent.
Our evening at the Grill Room was perfect and I can heartily recommend this place for a special dining experience.
