  Fun spot to check out. They have a huge T Rex skeleton which is great. I love the Totem poles, which are a permanent collection piece I believe. They also bring in great exhibits. This place is also super kid friendly.

  I have been going to the Field Museum on school field trips since I was a little girl, but now as an adult, I can appreciate it that much more. Aside from the permanent exhibits of the Native Americans of North America and taxiderimed animals from around the world. There are also touring exhibits like Khan and the Mataraji Jewerly. Amazing must see

  The Field Museum is one of the best museums that I have ever been to. There is literally something for everyone! Be prepared to wait in long lines though. But definitely worth the wait. Make sure to check out Sue the most compete Dinosaur skeleton on display.

  Do I really need to see stuffed animals that I can see in almost any zoo? Sure, there are some moderately interesting info-placards next to 'em, but I can see those at the zoo (or on the Web), too.
  
  The Polynesian exhibit was moderately interesting. The separately-priced bugs-life (soil) exhibit was hokey and not very engaging. And what's with having to pay separately for the underground exhibit, for the King Tut thing, and so on?
  
  I'm not sure what annoys me more. A sub-par experience at this museum overall, or the fact that we, as a country, value civic education and experiences so little that we starve our libraries and museums and instead send our tax money to piss off people overseas.
  
  But I digress.
  
  HINT: Go see the next door Shedd Aquarium instead. Friendly and more helpful guides. Amazing live animals. And just $8 to see the entire first floor.
