Awesome, awesome, and more awsome.if you want some of the best that asheville has to offer, you go to bull and begger.the sea food towers are a must.everything is just first rate.a fabulous awesome restaurant.
Fantastic food in a beautiful space. We were visiting Asheville and planned to have one "fancy" meal in town and the bull and beggar did not disappoint. We came on a Monday and was able to try the burger as well as standard entrees like filet and bone marrow. Everything was delicious and the burger may have convinced me there is a place for American cheese in "finer" dining. Getting a reservation was a challenge; we made reservations there day before and could only get a 8:45 slot.
This place is incredible. I eat here every time I come to Asheville and it's always on point. Wonderful/unique menu, excellent service and the food couldn't be better.
Great atmosphere, food was delicious, service was top notch.
I would never go back here! I've never been the person to send something back, but one of their signature drinks was truly disgusting. I had one sip and almost threw up. I politely asked our server for something else and she still charged me for the drink. The burgers we ordered were OK, but nothing you couldn't order at Wendy's.
Very good. Some dishes were better than others. Enjoyed the octopus, oysters and filet the most. The side dishes (tartiflette, which are similar to scalloped potatoes and even the french fries) were awesome. Cocktails were also delicious.
To say I was very disappointed in our experience would be a massive understatement. Had family members visiting from out of town join us for dinner here after eating at great restaurants all day for a fraction of the price. The only reason for two stars is because of the wonderful venue and atmosphere. We were expecting great things upon reading all the reviews but could not have regretted our decision more. Extremely overpriced menu items, masqueraded with fancy French descriptions. Presentation was wonderful, service was fine, but all guests agreed that we would have been better off at one of the chain steakhouses in town when it came to how our entrees tasted. Honestly, I still can't get over how lackluster the food was for the amount of money we paid. There are so many better locally owned and operated eateries in this area, so much so that I will never, ever recommend the Bull and Beggar to anyone for anything other than drinks. I haven't felt this negatively towards any dining experience in my two years of living in Asheville. I've apologized to our guests repeatedly, please do not make the same mistake I did in suggesting this place over the abundance of great options available here. And please do not trust the reviews either, the very definition of overrated.
Some of the best brunch in town can be found here. The brunch menu is generally European fare, French with an English Breakfast thrown in that I recommend heartily. Sometimes the food can be salted to liberally. Sometimes they will bring you a complimentary small treat on the house before your food arrives. The drinks are pleasant and the wine selection good.
Heard great things about this place. Went for brunch on a Sunday, and it was just ok. Cool spot and neighborhood, though.
Exotic and comprehensive charcuterie with the ploughman's platter - I only wish we had gone heavier on the cheeses! The shrimp cocktail came with The Most Delicious cocktail sauce & horseradish. Rounding it off with the pomegranate mint soda and strawberry cheese cake, the meal itself left little to be desired.
Unfortunately, our time was repeatedly interrupted by a group of young men who insisted on to complimenting our meal & hearing our opinion on the food as it was in our mouths. Too much work to enjoy the experience - Don't bother unless you have a reservation

Love the interior of this place. Very inviting. The foods were very different, but good. Nice place for a date 😊
This place is amazing! I've had oysters on the half she'll many, many places in my time but the oysters at The Bull and Beggar are the very best I've ever had. My favorite are, in order: MA, WA, VA. I also had the Filet and Marrow, which was EXCELLENT. The desserts are phenomenal! Service is great and the ambiance is warm and relaxing. Highly recommend this place!
Service was fantastic! The food was really good. Probably the best hamburger i've ever eaten..its not on the menu by the way. The oysters were top notch. Would highly recommend this place!
