There’s a reason the chef at this welcoming gastropub was a James Beard semifinalist. Every dish we had had high attention to detail and components that came together to provide tasty and compelling flavors. The daily specials were fresh and interesting. We tried a lovely beets salad, the mushroom lasagne, and two of the fish entrees, all of which were well-received and ended with clean plates. We’ll be back!
I wouldn't have included a starbut this app makes you to complete the post.
I've never eaten here and enjoyed it. However, we had a work function there recently - pre-planned for 40 people. The service and food was ridiculous. Arrived at 11:30, lunch served at 1, dessert 1:40-one person never got her food-no apologies, no offer to get her anythingnothing. They weren't even busy outside of our group, no excuse and never again! Food was awful as well. The bottled water on the table was tap. Disappointing to say the least and rude and dismissive when I brought my complaints to their attention.
Lovely setting and exquisite food with interesting cocktails to match. The service was outstanding. Extremely friendly and genuinely interested in what we were doing during our travels. Our server even wrote down a few local recommendations for us for after dinner drinks, which turned out to be perfect.
This is a family owned and operated restaurant that sources local products whenever possible. The atmosphere is quite nice the staff is friendly and professional. Kenny, the bartender is charismatic and full of humor every time I have been there! This is a great spot for dining in downtown Orlando.
Im a big fan of customer service and Kat took care of us in BEST way ever! I highly recommend this place! I'll definitively be coming back.
Very nice eating experience. Food menu is not extensive but they seem to put a lot into the dishes they present. Prices were reasonable.
This is a great place for farm to table, fresh, inventive food. The restaurant is big, open air feel, the menu is diverse and changes a bit every few months. The presentation is always excellent as is the staff. I have enjoyed The Rusty Spoon on several occasions and decided it was time to say how much! Thanks to Kenny for making us feel like family, when we sat at the bar for lunch!!
Nice cocktails and friendly service. the burger was absolutely delicious but the rest of the food didn't impress me. The fries with trio of dipping sauces were alright. Onion rings were lousy. The salads and soups were decent.
Great food relaxed atmosphere and service to match
Terrible experience. Ordered an appetizer and the experience was so poor we left and went somewhere else. $13 for clams app. Tiny portion to begin with, Came out and 5 of the 12 clams had nothing in them. fished through the brothnothing. Really? $13 for 7 tiny littleneck clams that were tasteless. Utter ripoff. They may be latching onto the Farm to Table craze but the execution was abysmal.
You can't fool people forever.
I would never go back.
Orlando's dining scene continues to climb the culinary ladder. Every step widens the gap from the pile of Applebee's, Chili's and the like crowding the bottom of that ladder
Rusty spoon nicely fits somewhere in the middle. Local ingredients, seasonal dishes and a southern industrial decor package come together to create a fun, tasty meal.
A couple of highlights:
- The beef carpaccio features a few twists, all for the better. Pickled vegetables add a great crunchiness to the dish, while the horseradish sauce add a burst of flavor.
- the hamburger was pretty awesome. A great flavor profile mixed with quality ingredients. A++
In need of improvement:
- the onion soup. It tried very hard but it didn't quite make it. It all comes down to underdeveloped flavors, which took away the robustness one expects from an onion soup. If they can master flavor development, then they have a hit!
The restaurants in downtown Orlando are your only chance for a reprieve from a) chain restaurants b) convention goers and c) Disney families and fanatics. Our team came here at the close of a convention, and were all so pleased to find a nice restaurant and a great meal. We had a large table with plenty of space to enjoy our 3 course pre-selected meal. We shared several apps to include the carpaccio, deviled eggs, and a few others not currently on the menu. They were all really strong. The starter salad was perhaps the highlight of the meal. Excellent greens and veggies, along with a superb dressing. My entree was the deconstructed lasagna. A nice, filling meal. My only hesitation in loving it is that there was there was quite a bit of liquid (not a thick sauce) that I could had done without. Dessert was a pastry with whip and strawberries - clearly in house made and fresh. Nicely done.
The service was prompt, the restaurant was lovely with brick, lots of art, and a spacious dining area where no one table was too close to the next.
Thanks for a great dining experience all around.
The Rusty Spoon is amazing. My wife and I both agree that they have the best breakfast that we have ever had. Not only is the food great, but their customer service was awesome too. They were very friendly and they were very quick to get us our food.
