This area is gorgeous. The hike was amazing, but overlook 4-10 are not meant for people with health problems. There was over 600 steps. We loved it though ages 5-40.

Tallulah Gorge is a two mile-long canyon that is almost 1000 feet deep with a river rushing through it.

The park has one of the best “interpretive centers” that I’ve seen in Georgia’s state park system. We hiked along the north rim of the gorge and then went down into the canyon. We made it down to the suspension bridge that hangs only 80 feet over the river but had to stop there. There was some sort of kayaking event below and they had closed off the trail to Hurricane Falls.

I had an incredible journey. I visited during the winter and the park was basically ours. The bathrooms were cleaned. The people at the visitor center were really helpful and the host at the time (David) helped us a lot with RV stuff. The waterfalls were amazing.

An awesome state park near the north GA mountains about 1-1/2 hours from Atlanta. There are an enormous number of stairs down into the gorge that crosses a suspension bridge. There are also many overlooks along the north and south rims which are a much easier hike than the stairs. There is a nice visitor center, campground, and lake with a small beach for swimming. Definitely one of Georgia’s jewel parks.

A beautiful state park encompassing a river flowing through a canyon and a ton of waterfalls. Make sure you're in decent shape before you get here. You're going to walk up and down literally thousands of stairs before your day is over. There are signs warning you of what you're about to get into. As in literally the words "Strenuous hike" and a stair count.

Nice trails. Lot's of steps on some of the trails for the more adventurous soul. There are some easier short trails leading to some fabulous views of the gorge below for those who are unable to climb.

Nice visitor center with a range of walking trails. The gorge is beautiful and has rich human history. Water releases are controlled by Georgia power and impact accessibility of the gorge floor. Release schedules are available online. Parking fees apply, as do permit free to access the gorge floor (these are also limited in number).

A must do at least once in your lifetime.
A word of advice though
BE PREPARED it can be VERY STRENUOUS Bring lots of water and maybe even something to eat (fruit or granola bars).

Great Park and beautiful views. Have been here several times and it's always a treat.
Be aware that counting the steps to Hurricane Falls, there are over 450 stairs on the North side and something like 500 on the South side and some of the flights are quite long between landings. As with most parks like this, if you go on the weekend, there's considerably less people before 10AM, so you have more time to enjoy nature.

Beautiful state park!!! Camp sites are a little close, luckily we got a larger one, but they are all well maintained. Ranger at the from was very nice and she was helpful. Met a few really cool people. Hiking is amazing and you are a short hike from the beach which is also very nice. We will definitely be going back!

Spectacular! Fun for all ages. Different levels of difficulty and adventure. We took our time from the Interpretive Center to the bridal veil falls (rock slide) and back, and it took us four hours. We passed by the campgrounds and dam during the hike. Dog-friendly up to a certain point. There's a $5 state park entrance fee as you go in. The Center itself is beautiful and contains a gift shop, restrooms, and a small museum. Restrooms are clean and convenient.

Breathtaking. If you plan on doing the Gorge Floor hike make sure you're at the interpretive center to get your free permit super early. We arrived around 745am and there were already 50 people ahead of us.
The Gorge Floor hike is a WORKOUT. You start off with ~500 steps, the suspension bridge, then make your way to huge stones you have to ninja warrior your way through.
You might take a tumble if you don't wear good hiking boots or shoes. After that it's more rock scaling/climbing until you reach Oceana Falls and sliding rock. All the sights around and between are marvelous. You'll make your way down the Gorge and to the natural water slide. It's super slippery so be very careful. It's so much fun and the perfect thing for the hot weather,the water is freezing!
Be sure to rest a little before your dip because the swim back and the climb up towards your resting spot will take a lot out of you.
After the nice dip, steep steep rock climbing stands between you and victory. Make sure you have plenty of water, you'll need it!

The waterfalls are breathtaking but the walk to and especially from the gorge is crazy hard. We camped at the campground and got the required pass for me, my husband, 16 yr old son and his girlfriend. We camp and hike a lot so we figured we would be fine. The path to the gorge was big boulders we had to climb over, the swimming hole and sliding rock were loads of fun but tiring as it's hard getting out of the water and back up the rocks. To get back to the campground, you have to go up the mountain at a °45 angle. Very difficult and dangerous. I felt like I was putting my son life in danger. One slip and he could have fallen of the mountain. By the time we got out, all 4 of us were hurt from falls and slips. The trail is not marked so there is no indication you are going the right way.

0loved the weekend trip my gf and I planned up towards this amazing and Captivating part of Georgia. The gorge is breath taking from the moment you see how enormous the gorge really is. It is the only site in the southeast like this and it has good trails and even better views. Unfortunately we went on a weekend when they were currently do work on the damn up at the start of the gorge which. Made getting the 1 of 100 permits they give daily a no go for us. Regardless we did as much of the other trails that were open.
Warning. : this is an extremely strenuous path with many inclines so steep steps were put in. If you can handle the quad workout from thee gorge you'll be treated to some of the best picturesque views in all of GA.
