Jay's Seafood may have the best reputation for seafood in the area, but for my money Sweeney's has just as good a menu and terrific staff. That's where I go when i want seafood!

We went there for our anniversary dinner to try the restaurant for the first time. We were very pleased with the appetizers and mixed drinks we had selected. However, my lobster tasted like ammonia, and had clearly gone bad. When I informed the waitress she sent the manager, who then lied and said what I was tasting was their blend of spices. In other words, they did nothing to fix the situation, just left me with spoiled lobster to eat. I will never set foot in the establishment again. I will take my business back to Jay's Seafood, where they know how to treat their customers.

Our favorite seafood restaurant. Many fresh entrees to choose from. No TVs in the dining room. Soft music, not noisy, good place for conversation. Excellent mixed drinks, beer.

Quality food, great service. A bit pricey but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile. Certainly beats that chain seafood place! No comparison at all, really.

Everything about this place is perfect! Doug, the"barkeep" is awesome! Lisa owner, spectacular. Oysters are just what you want with an ice cold beer. Just stop reading and go and experience this place for yourself! Just remember to chat with the person next to you at the bar!

I love Sweeney's! Great food and we always have great service. Mark is such a great server and is always helpful. We look forward to our next visit.

Horrible Experience! First off, when we asked for extra napkins we received Dominoes napkins!? How are you going to give me napkins from another establishment?! What kind of ghetto fuckery is that. I uploaded the photos on here of the Dominoes napkins. Anyways, it was Father's Day and my bf wanted to eat there so that's what we decided to do. We waited 45 minutes for appetizers and people that were seated after us were done eating by the time we received our apps. After, I tasted their frozen crab cake that they tried to pass off as fresh. I was done with this place I was not waiting for their entree. The waitress told me after being there for well over an hour there was 3 orders ahead of my table, and it wasn't even busy in there! I was DONE! They took apps off my check so all I paid for was the drinks. I will never ever go here or recommend this to anyone!

Poor food. Poor service Especially for the cost. My pasta was mushier than Kraft Mac n cheese and it took 15 min for the waitress just to come back and take my reorder.

Not the best place for atmosphere, but some of the best seafood you can dine on. Their scollops are above average. Their Crab Cakes are the best I have ever eaten anywhere, and we have been all over the US. Absolutely the best! Their sauce is homemade as well as the Crabcakes are made from scratch. We have driven from Louisville, Ky just to Eat their Crabcakes haven't been disappointed yet!

You HAVE to try the scallops here! Outstanding! We have never been disappointed after eating here. Love the atmosphere and the staff has always been top notch!
