Close to the Loaf, breakfast, gas and store. Don't need much else. Heaters in the room work very well, anyways able to dry our gear. Prefect for weekends.

Hostle more than a hotel. Has 5 private rooms and a full bunk area. Shuttle service to/from the AT. Walking distance to everything in town. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Marching Band and Treehugger are great!

Since the folks who own the Farmhouse in Rangeley bought this motel in August 2015, they've done a lot of renovations and improved the overall experience. They're super friendly and were very accommodating about long distance shuttles.

I really have nothing bad to say. Cheapest place in town and is perfect for a quick trip to Sugarloaf. We stay here every year!

The rate was relatively cheap, but it's not worth it. Stayed 4 nights. To start, our first night resulted in a silver fish-like bug, a spider, and random fruit flies. The housekeeping was dismal at best. Making of the bed and removal of used towels was optional day to day, never new sheets, no vacuuming even though it was blatantly and desperately needed (which is not cool when it's winter with salt, dirt, snow, etc). When manager called housekeeping back to make the beds, she was given "attitude", which is apparently acceptable because "it's so hard to find people to work". With 5 rooms, she could have easily took care of the housekeeping herself, but no such luck for us. Did manage to get new towels, but one set smelled less than fresh. Shower curtain had mold and stains on it and the ceiling was falling apart. Also missing electrical outlet faceplate in bathroom. One front window didn't actually close all the way which made us feel wonderfully safe, the screen door was falling apart and appeared to be covered in boogers. The tv had some funky film on it. Only plus was that it had a small microwave and fridge. I don't think the manager cares about the property at all, as even the "art" on the walls were falling down. When we complained she just sorta acknowledged it and did nothing. Unfortunately, it was the only vacancy we could find - and now we know why.

The best part of our stay was not being in our room, and going across the lot to the White Wolf Inn for good company, food, and drink. Let's just say the Stratton Motel has earned their bad reputation in town.
