Cruises can be very crowded, so do come early. Get a seat on the ferry too, so queue up early. Price is reasonable and worth it. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.

Statue cruises are fine, I would give them 5 stars for what you get for the buck. However, there is an insane number of scam sellers in the area that pretend to be StatueCruises employees and hawk on tourists. They have jackets that match the StatueCruises colors, they have officially looking employee cards on their necks and they even say they work for the StatueCruises company. Except they are not. They jump on you as soon as you leave the metro and lie that tickets are sold out for the day and try to sell you express tours. Then they take you to shuttle buses that leave for boats docket somewhere in Brooklyn, which you realize only after paying. A total scam. We were smart enough not to pay, but saw lots of tourists that did and were being boarded into the shuttles. When we declined their offer we were shouted at, harassed and intimidated. This was in the middle of a day. And the worst part was that the police were present just around the corner but did nothing to stop them. This thing needs to be sorted out, otherwise it is a big shame on the company and the NEW YORK CITY as a whole.

Lady Liberty is beautiful but the vendor that runs the tours is terrible. Yes, treated like cattle but the verbal abuse I witnessed was way out of line. Personnel needs to be trained to understand this is a national treasure, a world destination to be visited by people of many nations. Yelling instructions louder does not help. Demeaning people and laughing about it in their presence does not help. A ranger at the park was a big part of the problem, setting the tone for the vendor employees to follow. It doesn't take a lot of thought to make the process better. The Lady is beautiful and Ellis Island is a history lesson all should experience but unfortunately, what many will come away with is the memory of mistreatment of English as a second language visitors and foreign nationals.how ironic.

It does the job of getting you there and the prices are not exorbitant. Yes, you are treated like cattle, but there are a lot of people to get to the island.
It's popular - be prepared for a few lines. There is food, ice cream, drinks and a souvenir shop on the island. There is also food and drink available on the ships.response / report this review -

An absolutely amazing experience. Went for the Statue of Liberty, stayed much longer because of Ellis Island.
My biggest suggestion is to allocate at a very minimum 1 hour to spend on Liberty Island and 2 hours on Ellis Island. The experience was wonderful and I highly recommend it to anybody regardless of age or background.

Took the subway from Brooklyn to Bowling Green station near Battery Park. As soon as I got out and on to the street level a guide was there to point us in the right direction. Having to cross the street, there was another guide right there as well guiding others too. I purchased my tickets online so went straight to the security line. Saw the line for ticket purchasing, and it didn't look like it would take too long had I needed to buy them there (If you want to go up to the pedestal or crown be sure to book your tickets at least a month in advance). I might've gotten lucky the day I was there as the security line was very short and as soon as that was done I walked right on to the ferry.
First stop was Statue of Liberty. The ferry takes you in front of the statue and slows down to offer a prime photo location. Once on the island, be sure to pick up your audio tour that is free. I had pedestal tickets and went right to the entrance for that. Through another quick security check, I was inside the pedestal. Be sure to visit the museum inside before going up. To ascend, you can either take the stairs or wait for the elevator. Once outside on the pedestal, beautiful 360-degree views are available. Can get chilly up there, so be sure to bring a jacket. Spent a bit of time up there and on the way down were able to stop at an area that was much less crowded than the main island, which allowed us to take pictures again in every direction. Walked around the island a bit and then boarded on the ferry to Ellis Island.
Second stop was Ellis Island. This is definitely the most underrated part of the whole tour. The setup of the island is wonderful. They have it broken into three parts: Early migration (prior to Ellis Island), the Ellis Island era, and immigration post Ellis Island. Again, be sure to pick-up the audio tour that is free and take your time especially in the upstairs section. It is unbelievable to think about what was going on in these people’s minds while they were here and trying to make it. Very emotional to put yourself in their shoes. Could've easily spent half the day in this section.
We had other plans to get to in the evening, so we didn't get to spend anywhere close to the amount of time we would've like to here. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.response / report this review -

Be prepared to wait in ultra long lines sometimes 1hr+ on liberty island. No problem with the crew on this service. Typically loud. Those lines though. Many people felt like they were cattle. It's not fun. If you think waiting in lines is works for you then this cruise line is for you

Order you tickets online and pick them up at will call. Ticket lines were insane. Waiting foe the ferry to Liberty Island is like cattle to slaughter. Horrible. Everything else was good. Although you should make sure you walk quickly off the boat or you may get a little shove.

If you enjoy queuing, then this is the tourist attraction for you.
Some of the many queues we experienced at this tourist trap imclude:
- 200m long queues with airport security to get on the boat
- queue to get off the boat
- Queue to get view of Statue of Liberty
- Long queue to get back on the boat
- Queue to get off the boat at Ellis island
- Long queue to get back on the boat
- Sea sickness inducing queue to get off the boat at battery park
Unfortunately, due to the extensive time spent queuing, we didn't have time to go up the Statue of Liberty or see much of the Ellis island museum exhibit.response / report this review -

Been there 5 times very nice place and very cheap . Some Ppl are upset saying they bought tickets for 45 and 60 $ and they been waiting in a line for 75 mins ..this is not true this tickets never costs 45 $ per person .. u better dont buy ticket from the ppl outside of Statue Cruises, LLC they got some badges but no ! Those tickets are not for statue Cruises , its just a taxi cruise which takes u around and never stops on a Liberty and Ellise island ! Buy ticket only inside of the bulding at a cashier . Enjoy !

Today we were conned to buying tickets for 'Liberty Cruises' by some conman with 'official' on his badge. He lured us to buy tickets for the next 1 hour cruise around the islands and harbour, which, he stated left the port immediately. We have been waiting in a line for 75 minutes, and have been told that it will be another 30 minutes till we get on a cruise. Tickets were $45. The phone number that we have been given has a 'full' mail box. There must be at least 700 people behind us in the line waiting to get on the same cruise. There is no website for 'Liberty Cruises', and no company of this name on trip adviser. How does New York City transport allow this sham to happen. This is shameful!!!

You MUST go here early to avoid the lineups security check is completely wack they asked me to remove my sweater when all I had under was a camisole. Told the security that it's ridiculous and I'm clearly not hiding anything under my shirt. Making a scene made them feel uncomfortable as no woman should have to be put through being embarrassed like that. The boats are old but at least have working toilets on them. The crew seem to be fairly young but they know their stuff. And the boat schedule is true to it's times

The cruise line is your go to for the Statue and Ellis. I recommend everyone do the statue first, spend a little time there and then go to Ellis. The cruise is fast and they move a lot of people around pretty quickly. Be fair warned though it is still a boat. As smooth as it is. If the wind is hitting NYC the right way that boat is going to what boats do, especially at the dock. Also remember this is lower Manhattan the nature of the area is high security. It can create some anxiety.
