Incredibly dissapointed in the er. I took my mother there after a fall (both knees replaced). Waited over 2 hours in lobby and propped her feet on a table as they would not bend due to swelling. What I realize now is I should have left then and taken her to Indy because it only went downhill from there. Nurse came in and I had to ask for ice. I'll spare you the grousome pics. Then a nurse practioner came in and ordered X-rays and was gone. Radiology was good about X-rays.Waited 3 more hours and not one person checked in. Ice bags were warm by now. I had to seek out someone for news and hit the jackpot at the nurses station where I found many nurses and the nurse practioner. I asked if any news and they said yes and be back with me. Finally came in and said looked good with no instruction on a woman who can't walk who stated she lived on her own. Dismissed quickly with no instructions or questions and I asked for more ice packs please. I even said we need a wheelchair since she can't walk. Never asked if she was going home alone but I was actually taking her with me.
As it turns out she had damage they never detected. Major blood loss, water on knees, and one of her real doctors ran more X-rays for her surgeon due to suspect of damage to prosthetics. Our wait the er was 7 hours and detected nothing and only checked on her 4 times. Saw two nurses and paractioner twice which I requested the last two check ins.
Due to my mother's condition of multiple prosthetics due to early onset of rhumatoid arthritis in her 20's, I have been in many hospitals and never saw incompetence, laziness, and neglect at this level. If I could give negative stars I would. If you have an emergency, I recommend driving south to Indy.

My wife went into labor with our second child Friday night. She was scheduled for induction Saturday evening. She called her Dr and told her we were on our way to the hospital, a 20 minute drive for us. We arrived at the hospital at 11pm and got checked in.

We got up to the birthing center around a quarter after. Her contractions were about 8-10 minutes apart upon arrival. Instead of treating it like the active labor it was they took their sweet time. She arrived 1cm dilated, one hour later she was 3cm. Half an hour went by while her contractions were growing in strength. They checked her again and she was at 8cm. You would think by now they would be set up and ready already receiving the call we were coming.

But no, this is when they just make the call to the ob. It wasn't 15 minutes and she was in full on labor. Still no dr, still nothing set up and ready for the delivery. They ended up having to call an er Dr up just in case. They screwed around so long they didn't even have time to give her an epidural or anything.

Our son was born at 1:16am saturday the 2nd of September. It was almost 8hrs before we even knew his weight or his size.

The night shift nurses were very attentive and did what they could per instructions they were given, but the day shift was absolutely terrible. Very rude to even our 6 year old son.

Or first child was born at dukes in peru, which is not a great hospital in my opinion anyways, but it was a 1000x better experience than this place. The Dr on call was actually in the building ready to go at the moments notice, as well as everything was set up and ready to go.

I would only recommend this place as a last resort to deliver a baby.

I could not believe how unorganized they were.

Good staff, variety of services in one place, it can be a maze to get around. Parking is much better than most hospitals.

I was on my way to welcome my newest nephew into the world when a "Butch" nurse told us our 8 yr old son wasn't permitted in the hospital period. So we left. Today he was in school so we came to visit today and was rushed at the door as another rude nurse told me and my wife we weren't permitted to visit only the father and grandparents. Ok, so yesterday we were told 18 and younger can't enter. Today only the father or grandparents, ???? Way to show the world the definition of rude and straight up bullshit !!!!!
