Lots of people don't realize just how crappy this hospital is because they probably have never left Evansville or any of its surrounding cities. Any hospital in Chicago, or Kansas City will shut this hospital down. The staff is rude, and the Doctor's are cold as ice. The care is very poor and at a minimum. I was put on birth control 2 wks after having a miscarriage so that Dr. Lanyard could make more money by tieing my tubes. I didn't understand why I was feeling depressed. I had contacted her and she told me that I was grieving from my miscarriage when I in fact was not grieving anymore. She had scheduled me an appointment a month out. A week prior to that I was admitted into St. Vincent hospital. I had called the Women's and Children department twice to let Dr. Lanyard know that i was admitted. When I made it home I received a letter saying that I was dropped from her care for missing an appointment. Meanwhile, I was still on the birth control pills. It wasn't until I went to Deconnes that a nurse had explained to me that the birth control pills that I was taking mixed with the hormones of carrying a child was the cause of my stress, and anxiety. After I had stopped taking the birth control pills my life had went right back to normal.

My wife had worked there for almost 20 years. The pay is good but politics of a Catholic hospital being owned by Ascension health is mind blowing. They treat their employees well. ER visit is useless your dying. Any other reason, might as well forget it. They have a predisposed attitude towards someone who they think looks like they are after pain medication. Nurses openly taking about patients drug habits, personal problems (which I'm pretty sure is illegal under HIPA). As stated before, my wife is a long time employee and they treat us like royalty. But someone off the street, with non life threatening injuries, you might want to try other methods of remedy.

I give it a 4 simply because I absolutely love the women &a children center. I'm a proud mommy of 5 and 4 of my 5 children were born here :) it was absolute perfection every time but 1, simply because I didn't have an OB due to billing issues with my usual OB, so they refused to see me. So I saw some old woman who was just horrid. anyway, the emergency room is an absolute joke. Let me just start out by saying, I honestly love almost all of the doctors. The issue is, it's nearly impossible to see one in the ER. You usually get a PA or NP. And honestly? The nurses are completely horrid. Actually, majority of the females who work at this place are absolutely awful unless they work in OB. And even some of them I would straight up refuse to let touch me or near me. The main issue is, the staff (mainly females) refuses to treat people because of the assumption of people being narcotic junkies. It's almost to the point where you could be sitting there with your arm cut off and they'd be like "omg you have tattoos and aren't wearing a suite you must have chopped your own arm off for narcotics so I'm going to treat you like complete trash and send you on your way with a bad attitude and ibuprophen". It's seriously that bad at this place. Which baffles me because, junkie or not, they're humans and deserve proper care. Addiction is a disease, they're medical professionals. They seem to forget that. And the staff all sits around talking loud enough where you can hear them and they talk about this patient and that patient, "oh this one smells" or "this one just wants pain medication" or "this one is a hypochondriac" or "omg did you see that woman's kid?" Like, they're super awful. They should consider a totally different profession. One where they don't have to even try to pretend like they're nice people, perhaps?

Bedside manner in the ER room is NOT very welcoming. Not just for this visit, but seems to be the culture in this organization. I will only utilize their facilities in an emergency - if they are the ONLY option available.

After spending 6 weeks in St. Mary's, the only thing we can say is that we experienced an awesome nursing and doctor team. The 6th floor west unit, which is the renal unit, the dialysis unit are truly amazing. Good job to all those involved.
The Dining on Call, patient meal service was decent, with quick service. However the general dining room is overpriced, not much variety, and rude staff.
Overall, decent place to be if you have to be there!response / report this review -

Off the bleachers I did fall,
I've had a few strains and sprains.
But this time I knew it was broken,
So I went to see Doctor Daines.
I talked to him and explained--
"I'm not one who usually complains,
But I seem to have a problem here,
Can you help me, Doctor Daines?
After examining my x-rays,
He used his God given brain,
He said he thought he could fix it--
The remarkable Doctor Daines.
My ankle was swollen so we wait,
Until he ascertains-
That it is time for surgery,
The unshakable Doctor Daines.
Three bones had been broken,
And with all my aches and pains,
I was afraid he couldn't deliver,
The confident Doctor Daines.
But he fixed my trimalleolar fracture,
Now I don't even use a cane,
Now I walk with hardly a limp,
Thanks to the talented Doctor Daines.
It still gets a little swollen,
I can feel it when it rains,
But most of that will subside--
Says the hopeful Doctor Daines.
I'm feeling so much better now.
And the one thing that remains--
Is the appreciation that I have,
For the amazing Doctor Daines.
And thanks for your help, doctor Tidwell-
I want you to know that you did well. ( And I thank you)

My surgery was February 22nd. I only have good things to say about the care I received from St Mary's Hospital and Tri State Orthopedics. I am so thankful that I can walk again.

Updated: I complained a few things on here some I still feel but after today I can rephrase this more. Starting with still saint Mary's (Vincent ) I still find a good hopsital. But I did talk with my boss today about some stuff I also found out I need to block some people on my social media ;). Lol hi I know your reading this 😀. Lol but anyways for once I felt comfortable talking to my boss today and was actually able to express my true feelings about work and it felt good . However I will have some complaints of course but I would like to recap and say that now that my opinion is heard of hope things get done and it isn't just some ruse to make me feel better. So all in all I would give my job a 4/5 again :3 . (Would be amazing if my boss let me actually​ talk real talk off the clock and explain my feelings on how to run some jobs but yea that's only hopes and dreams since im only an employee the only thing I can do is complaining and cry. Lol wish me luck hope I can change some things and maybe stay and do better :) .

We arrived at St. Mary's ER on a Friday night. My wife had become I'll on our trip home and within 10 minutes of arriving we were in a bed being seen. Shortly after, they admitted her to 4-W. The nursing staff on the ward were great and very helpful. Our only issue was none of the doctors could make up their minds on what was going on. Each doctor had a different theory on the cause, but, the problems were addressed and taken care of. The other problem we had was with the GI drs. Apparently the staff GI department wouldn't do a consult because we had never been there before, so they had to go to a GI Dr from another hospital wich caused serious delays in treatment and diagnosis.

My mother was in St Mary's hospital after a serious accident. The doctors there at St. Mary's are great - but the nursing staff mostly is terrible. My mother was in intensive care initially and the nurses there seemed competent. But after we moved out of intensive care we had terrible nurses. You would ring the call button and you were lucky if someone came in a 1/2 an hour. My mother would need a bedpan - and they would say, just go in the bed and we'll clean it up later. Thankfully there was a family member with her all the time because we observed some borderline abusive behavior by the nurses - but then they would glace over at us and see our stricken faces, and it would stop. My father was in tears at some of the rough and unkind treatment of my mother from the nursing staff. One time we rang for the nurse - no one came - after 45 minutes I went to the hallway, and there were several nurses that were talking about their weekend while standing at the nursing desk. I asked the senior nurse if she or someone else would be able to come soon, and she let out an exaggerated sigh and told me that she would come later - she was too busy. That time was about an hour and a half before anyone came. That same senior nurse at one point plopped down in a chair and started talking about her family - she was worried her son would be put in jail soon and her Pregnant daughter was nearly killed by an ex-boyfriend as he shot her car, nearly missing her. Wow. The patient billing process is not good - we are waiting on St. Mary's to bill Medicare even 7 months later, but they are demanding payments (> 1/2 million dollars).
