Took my brother here and was welcomed by great staff at the front desk. When he was taken back it went downhill. Was asked to leave before the DR. Came in so i waited in the waiting room. Nothing was said and then heard my brother screaming from the room because they were numbing him with a needle. Never even saw the DR. I'm a firm believer if you don't like your job and you have cannot talk to families of your patients then you should not be working an E.R. worst experience I've ever had at a hospital.

Nurse was professional and friendly. My problem with the hospital is sending me to collections with Miramed when I was paying the hospital. Apparently, if it is not paid in full and you are making payments to the hospital they send you to collections. Miramed calls you and asks to verify your zip code and date of birth before you give them any information. Seems very strange to me. Every person I have spoken to is rude and uninformed about my payment history.

I have had to take multiple family members here for various reasons, and I was here as well. It is AMAZING and I will never go anywhere else. The entire staff, from the time you walk in the door until the time you leave, is courteous, respectful, and professional. I am SO glad they opened up here in Munster. Whether you are going to the ER or to get a procedure done or are admitted, you will be treated with kindness and compassion. I would give it 100 stars if I could.

I had a really good recovery at Franciscan healthcare Munster. I was well attended to during my recovery from surgery. All staff had worked together to make sure I recovered well. I was given help and advice with how to deal with such change to my body. One thing I really appreciated was seeing a few of my other doctors and the chaplain John. John prayed with me several times which helped ease my mind and fears before and after surgery. I had one small incident that was resolved as if it never happened, and for that I will definitely recommend this facility for medical needs. I had some really cool nurses who kept me smiling and in good spirits like Paula and Geber from 3s. Linda came around shortly after. I just was thankful to leave feeling like I will be ok, but I was in good hands and under great care. I think I may have given them a small scare, but they came rushing and helping which I feel is extraordinary.

No doubt, I am alive because of Franciscan! Because the Franciscan staff is well-trained and focused on compassionate patient care, in every aspect of my treatment, the staff was able to avert a tragedy and literally saved my life. I am indebted to Dr. Ninos Oda, Brenda and Jamie and everyone on my case in orthopedic who just did not feel right about my hip surgery and referred me to Dr. Buccellato, Dr. Desai, and Linda Gato in pulmonology. From there, tests were run that revealed an advanced blood clot called a saddle. From Dr. Hutchinson in the Emergency Room, to those who conducted all the scans and tests, to Dr. O'Keefe who professionally performed an EKOS procedure to bust the serious clot, to Dr. Infusino, Dr. Ossawe, Dr. Mbaoma, Dr. Jones and each doctor involved in my case, to Mary, Tim, Alyson, Rhea, Shawna, Danyella and each nurse in ICU who graciously and professionally cared for me, ( I am truly sorry if I did not get every name.) THANK YOU for being used of God to give me a few more years of life. I appreciate each of you and every other person that assisted in my care. I would rate my care at Franciscan Hospital in Munster, Indiana, as a resounding A++!

I was there for pneumonia last year in April. The ER staff was kind and efficient. No waiting. The doctor was compassionate and thorough. Kept me for 3 days on 2nd floor. Excellent care. We've been there for other issues with my family more recently and the excellent care has not changed.

My daughter in law went there to the emergency room and the Doctor dismissed her concerns and when my daughter said to just forget it and she wanted to leave the nurse left the room and was laughing with other staff about her. The doctor came back in and asked if she was unhappy with him.
Give me a break! People come there with concern and hopes that they can get help, not being dismissed and laughed at!
    Not professional at all!!

I get a test done every two years. In January I had it done for the first time at Franciscan Munster. The problem I have is with the billing department, which apparently does not know what they are doing. I have medicare as primary, UHC as secondary. When I found out that neither insurance was going to pay, I called the billing department who admitted they billed the wrong insurance first but would rectify the situation. I talked to two different employees in billing yesterday, each told me a different story. The first one transferred me to a phone which kept ringing with no answer. The second told me it was Medicare's fault, that I should call Medicare, which I later did. Medicare told me they never got a claim from Franciscan! No wonder the bill is not getting paid, the billing department doesn't know what they're doing! I would save yourself a headache and go to any other hospital beside this one.

i was having severe pain from pancreatitis i finally was able to get pain medication and it relieved the pain then 2 hrs later got another shot however 2 hrs later asked for some more pain medication and was told "i paged the dr waiting for him to call back" i asked for this medication 2 times after and told the same thing but remember i am in the emergency room so in this big nice hospital and being in an emergency room there was not one dr to okay this pain shot. Since i was not getting medical treatment i unhooked my iv myself and went out and had a cig and boy the hospital was in an uproar about that and trying to tell me rules and i told the nurse case manager for the hospital i was not receiving treatment for what i came here for but she was sure worried about the hospital liability

Horrible experience. No one knows what the other is doing. Dr's are rude and nurses have no idea what the Drs are doing. There for 5 days. Never had bedding changed, iv had was swollen and pillow propping it had blood all over it. Taken off daily meds with no explination. When asked about this, no one could answer us. Dr's came in when ever they felt like it, never giving any kind of answers to our questions. And when we got an answer it was very abrupt, almost like a how dare we ask a question. Call button was answered maybe in 20 minutes. When we asked to speak to a person in charge we were told they were not at that facility. After asking many times we finally got a phone number. My family member who was the patient did not want us to call. Other people are still waiting for return calls, so in the long run it is probably better we did not. I would never use this "hospital" under any circumstances. It does suprise me that there quality is so bad, other Fransciscan facilities are so much better.
