There was good and bad; the ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful! We had lovely cool weather in December and the patio heaters made it just perfect to sit outdoors. The service was nice. The food is where they fell short. The egg salad sandwich was plain and boring. It needed a lot of salt and pepper to make it tolerable. The banana cream pie was also boring and barely worth the calories. The only good part of the banana cream pie were the pieces of banana with brûlée'd sugar on them; but there weren't enough of those. Overall I'd give the food a 3-star rating and the ambiance and service a 5-star.

We love Spencer's!!!! Bread pudding French toast is great. Balance out the healthy fare with the protein platter. And take home the bread pudding. Call ahead to reserve the bus for the kiddos.

I'm typically not one to leave a review, good or bad. My review comes as someone with severe allergies to both gluten & dairy, and I hope it will help the next me who is choosing where to dine with allergies in Palm Springs.
I chose this place to dine on my last night here with my boyfriend, we had some money to spend and wanted a high end restaurant that had options with allergies. Judging from the options available online, the reviews and the price point, we easily selected Spencer's. Our server and all those we were in contact with, were very welcoming and friendly. Our issue was the attention to detail and commitment to providing a safe meal for someone who asked what was available with both allergies, and was assured the meal would be perfectly safe for me. I wouldn't recommend this spot to someone who takes their allergies seriously or who carries serious repercussions when Intaking their allergy.response / report this review -

Had breakfast here for the first time, it was outstanding and great value. I had the egg & bacon breakfast croissant with grilled fingerling potatoes. The food was exquisite. The waitress Jessica provided excellent service. The ambience is second to none, we sat outside under the trees mister and air and one could not ask for a better view of the semi tropical gardens, pool and tennis courts. I highly recommend this place for breakfast. Planning on going to lunch there tomorrow. It is a must if you have not been. My husband had the blueberry pancakes which we also delicious.

Ate lunch at Spencer's today for the first time. First impressions was upscale fancy, dark and a live piano player. We were great and only had a 5 minute wait for a table inside. Outdoor tables were an hour wait and nobody got time for that!
Food was good. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with homemade chips. The chicken was good, bacon was crisp (I added it) but the chops were the best. My friend had the blackened salmon, soup/salad and pecan pie. He said it was really good.
4 stars because it felt dark inside, no beer on tap, everyone got bread but us (what's up with that), and hardly any ice in my Coke. I had to ask for an extra glass of ice.
Overall it was good. I'll go back for sure.response / report this review -

Food excellent, and value reasonable. The atmosphere is not quite as grand as described, and there didn't seem to be much of a view to me. I was also initially offered a very bad table which may have been because I was dining alone.

Really great service. I've only dined here at night and ate outside. Very nice, classy and not pretentious. Again, the service was impressive. Food was great too. We did a pri fixe menu which is a great value.

This place is cute. The food is good. I had the fritter at brunch and very much enjoyed it. The other plus is the bottomless mimosas. It's good for groups, but don't try to show up with a group without a reservation; you either won't get a table or you'll have to wait for quite a long time.

Hostess was on the phone and didn't greet us for a while. We had requested outdoor seating and they said they didn't have any available. They didn't show us to the bar and we had to find it ourself. The bartender was rude and didn't wait on us for quite a while. We were the only ones at the bar. He was waiting on the wait staff first. The food wasn't good plus found a bug in my spinach salad. The waiter didn't even apologize.

Love, Love this Restaurant. Friendly Management, Friendly Staff. Great atmosphere. Great place for special occasions, like Birthdays, first dates, Anniversaries. Make Reservations, highly Recommended. Too Bad their Chef left them. Every Restaurant needs to change there menu about every 2 years. But if the Menu works and no one is complaining than you can go with it. Their Chef has been gone for at least 3 years.

My father and I had a wonderful lunch here today. The owner is extremely friendly and inviting and we could have happily stayed there all day trying all the delicious dishes. We went with the meat and lentil pastry appetizers (forget the name but they were like samosas) and they were extremely tasty. Then the vegetarian combo (big enough for 2) and it was excellent. We had the spicy tea and finished it off with their homemade baklava (outstanding!!). We were given delicious Ethiopian coffee with almond milk gratis and a free piece of baklava to take home to my boys. I will be back with more of my family in tow.Spencer's Restaurant is best.
