Great customer service! I went in to have my car serviced at the end of the day and they worked overtime to service my car so that I wouldn't have to leave it there overnight. William Allen was great and really took care of my issue.

My sales person is very nice and explain things in a way that I truly understand. The car they want to put me in I love it.

I went to Southern States Hyundai for the first required maintenance service. The representative was really attentive, listened to my concerns and explained all the work performed.
However, I was surprised by the length of time it took to service my Elantra. I chose to wait because I expected basic services to be quick. I waited for 3 hours!

Why can't I give no stars?

We bought a brand new Hyundai Sonata car from this dealership 3-years ago. We love the car.

The service department is quite candidly one of the worst managed businesses I have have ever had to work with.

Today was the final straw. My wife had an appointment at 11:30am for a recall repair and oil change. She was told that it would only take 1.5 to 2 hours so she planned to wait. When she got there it changed to 2 hours. By the time I drove from work over to get her, it had been almost 4.5 hours and they still weren't done. She had spoken with several people only to get the same story.

I have called and left a message for the Sales Manager and the Service Manager, and will be calling the General Manager as well as Hyundai corporate to ensure they know exactly what has happened.

By the way, this is the 3rd time the same thing has happened and that doesn't count the number of times she has been forced to go through their auto call back system only to never get a call.

We will be driving the extra miles to Cary for service in the future, and can only assume it is impossible to receive worse customer care.

Sadly like all the posts below I do wish I had also read the reviews posted by others. I dropped my car off at 8:30 am for yet another recall and was asked when it needed to be ready by. I was trying to be nice and flexible so I said by the end of the day was ok. The fact that they never called to tell me my car was ready should have been the first hint. I went the next morning to pick it up. Waited for 15 minutes for someone to even talk to me and was then told that my car had just been taken back a few minutes ago to start work on it. I had a bewildered look on my face I'm sure. I mean how do you just forget about a car completely? Then the gentleman helping me said "it's not the technicians fault but my car should be done by like 12:30". Will take it to another dealership for sure next time.

Like most others who have posted reviews, I wish I had the option to give zero stars. I brought my car in at 8:30 am yesterday morning to have a recall inspected and was told it would be finished by 2pm. I called multiple times throughout the day and wasn't called back until 5:30 pm only to be told the car wasn't going to be finished until "first thing" the next morning. I didn't get an update until 11 am, and was told the car wouldn't be ready until 12:30/1 pm "at the latest" and the battery needed to be replaced. Once again I call multiple times, resort to calling the shuttle driver who thankfully was able to track down the worthless manager. The manager calls me back and tells me the shuttle driver will pick me up, and that by the time I get to the dealership, my car will be ready with "keys in hand". Here I am, sitting in a waiting room for my car which will be "another half hour or so", which likely translates to much longer. The shuttle driver even tried to give me a BS excuse that the dealerships phone lines weren't working properly. I am furious at the customer service of this poorly-organized service department, but I am more furious at myself for actually paying them for their services. If I had been thoughtful enough to read the scathing reviews others had posted about this place, I would have driven an hour out of my way to go to another dealership.

I am giving a 1 star only because there was no 0 star. This is a complaint of the LOUSY, "don't give a damn attitude of the service manager" this afternoon. I bought my first new Santa Fe in 2007. I bought my current Santa Fe Sport on 9/13/2013 (Friday the 13th). My cars were/are excellent. My issue today was with the Service Manager(?). On 9/7, I had a recall appointment scheduled for 2:00pm. The lady informed me there was a 2 hour delay due to a backlog. My appointment was re-scheduled for today at 1:30. My wife and I arrived at 1:20 and informed the associate, when asked, we would be waiting. At 2:45, after hearing nothing, I left the temporary waiting area to check on the progress. As I left, I noticed my car parked, with others, in the lot behind the service area. The lady at the service desk said there was a delay and work had not begun. I was offered a loaner and declined. I told her I wanted to speak with the Service Manager. When he (believe his last name began with "H"), arrived, he asked about the situation. I explained that this was the 2nd appointment for the same issue. I told him the car was brought in at 1:20 and at 2:45 (1hour and 25 minutes later!) decided to check on the status, only to discover that work had not begun. I told him that common courtesy would have been to be informed - given that I notified staff that I would be "WAITING". I asked if this recall could be handled at another Hyundai dealership. He nodded in the affirmative and walked back in the service area.

    Need I say more?

The car salesman I worked with was great, the management not AT ALL. I confirmed on a Saturday that they had the car I wanted. I moved my schedule around to ensure that I could get in Saturday to put the deposit down. Deposit was down and I was told that they had to pick it up from another dealership but would have it Mon or Tues. Come Wednesday, I reached out and come to find that they were not able to get it.

Worst part is, the manager told me they found 1 remaining vehicle that matched my description but since it was 500 miles away, the other dealership wouldn't let them drive it in because it would add too many miles. When I asked if they could ship the car, his response was "yes, but it would cost too much money for us to do that" Too much money and now a lost customer and a horrible review. Not a smart business man if you ask me.

    Absolute wonderful customer service.
Where everyone else had denied me due to lack of credit history, the guys here treated me like a super star and I rolled out of the parking lot with a brand new car! I'd definitely recommend them if you're looking for a reliable team that you can trust.

I am not one to typically write a review online, but I have found I am genuinely frustrated by the many times I have been let down in service, within each service. My belief is PART of the issue (at the moment) is they are understaffed and management is not considering this when scheduling for car services. The other part, the actual service from mechanics to advisers, is lacking in quality. I cannot count on my fingers and toes the number of times I have had to contact the service department in the past year because my voicemail was not returned or the adviser did not call when promised.

If one is still skeptical, my most recent experience: I dropped off my car at the scheduled appointment. Three hours later I called because I had not heard about the emissions light diagnostic check results. After work, we went by the dealership since I hadn't heard back about the costs for parts and labor, and we were given a cost that was double in price of a repair shop that I trust. I requested to speak with the manager the next morning, but the conversation ended up being with the adviser relaying the "offer". We decided to pass on the repair at the dealership and when relayed we would pick up the vehicle that evening -- told at 1:30pm -- the part was not on the vehicle. Needless to say, I picked up the vehicle the NEXT day, 1.5 hours after it was promised to be completed.

I had high hopes the atmosphere would change, especially for convenience of this location. But I was disappointed time and time again. I suppose, shame on me.

Customer service at this location is practically non-existent. I'm genuinely perplexed as to why they even bother to provide a phone number if they never answer the phone in the first place. That's aside from the fact that whoever answers the primary phone number is borderline useless and unhelpful. My girlfriend's 2013 Elantra has been sitting in their garage for a little over a week now, due to the engine failing, and they haven't contacted her once to update her on the progress of the repair. Every time she calls it's the same crap all over again: clerk answers phone, doesn't help at all, and once again transfers her to the service number which nobody ever answers. Multiply that by twenty and that's been our experience with Southern States. The only way I've been able to find out anything is by driving all the way to the dealership and talking to them in-person. Why they don't just call and update us that way is beyond me. Seems like I'll be driving myself there yet again to get some more questions answered.

Garrett in Service and Steve Jenkins in Sales are WONDERFUL. The only concern I've ever had was rectified immediately and very much to my satisfaction. Would recommend!!!

We worked with Rick Lynch who was professional, quick to respond, and accommodated our request to complete all of the details of negotiating over phone and email. We just had to walk in and sign the paperwork. One of the best buying experiences I've ever had. I would highly recommend Rick and Southern States.
