They failed to properly operate their dam and released large amounts of silt into the pigeon river killing half a million fish and harming the environment.
I've been here for 5 Yoga Festivals and at least 5 retreats plus stopped by a few times to play (and pray). The people, energy, history, and land are amaaazing! I fully support the beautiful work that this community has been doing for so many years. A rich community that is worth of your visit, meditation, donation, and support :)
Can't operate a dam correctly
Pricey but worth it.
Beautiful sacred special place :)
Best job I've ever had
Beautiful sacred space.
I attended Yoga Fest 2015 and loved it! The grounds are beautiful and the diverse array of class offerings kept me busy and engaged from sunrise to sunset. The staff are wonderful as are the other attendees. There was some really magnificent food offerings that kept me fueled for hiking and paddle boarding. I am looking forward to next years event!
I camped at the Song of the Morning Ranch in conjunction with the Michigan Yogafest. The experience was top notch. The setting is just wonderful. The main building is situated alongside the Pigeon River. The buildings nearby have been thoughtfully constructed to be compatible withe their location. One immediately senses peace and tranquility.
More importantly the folks who operate the facility are all warm and welcoming. I was immediately made to feel welcome. I could sense the positive relationship that each one enjoyed with others. I think part of the reason for that is that the staff live where they work and have chosen to be there to continue their spiritual path.
I inspected the lodging areas and was impressed by their cleanliness and the peaceful comfort which they afforded. Note: their is a "shoes off inside " policy.
Your time there will be special.
