Small town motel in Northern Michigan. Rooms were clean and slightly out of date. No microwave or refrigerator but Wi-Fi is available. Pretty much what you would expect from a mom and pop kinda hotel.

The redwood is a great place to stay, it's ever so slightly out of date (to me that makes the experience even better). The staff is very very friendly. The pool is nice and cool. Hot tub is hot.

The bonfire pit out front is a nice way to unwind and have a laugh filled conversation with friends (An obnoxiously drunk lady threw the bench that you normally sit on into the bonfire pit last week).

In all the Redwood is exactly what it looks like on the outside, a throwback to quieter times.

If you find yourself up in lewiston Mi, I suggest staying at the redwood.

Great place to stay with clean rooms and friendly staff. Relaxed in the pool and hot tub and then chilled out by the fire pit.

This hotel has the best service, very nice people who work here. The place is always clean. Never have to worry if something is wrong because they will always fix it.

Last weekend I was here for the rumble in the woods. And there was a group of bikers that got drunk and this lady was sitting on the bench claimed she had a broken tailbone and the bench broke soo she burned it in the fire. Not one time did she mention too them that it broke. She didn’t set it aside. Nothing just threw it in the fire. Which is ironically funny because I was sitting on the same exact bench earlier that day. This bench was a sentimental piece because for the past 2 years everyone had signed it that came up here for it. Well she was very obnoxious and very rude. And the owners handled the situation with a great positive attitude. I’m just wondering how you can ride a bike all the way up here all day for the next 2 days and then all the way back home when you broke your tailbone 2 weeks ago..? Hmm weird.

But very nice place to stay, very welcoming!

Decided to stay here for my daughters 14th birthday so she and her 5 friends and 2 siblings could go swimming and hang out, this was a huge mistake. We are locals and decided to stay here since it was locally owned. We were all swimming in the pool when the owners daughter decided to come in yelling at the kids for locking the locker room door and when I told her there was no way they had done it because nobody had left the pool in our group she continued to yell and threaten us, there was another lady and kid who had left though through the locker room. Supposedly customers complained because they couldn't get in so they told her so she could let them in but no one else ever came to use the pool. When we decided to write a review on their Facebook page we were instantly attacked by people saying that they were customers but when we looked them up on facebook they happened to be friends and family, we have screenshots to prove it. When this was pointed out they deleted their Facebook page. The next morning someone came to me and showed me a post on the daughters private facebook page continuing to bash my family and make up lies about my kids bothering customers which we only encountered 4 other people and that was in the pool area, there were no customers in any rooms remotely close to ours. Come to find out she is a pathological liar which was confirmed by numerous other people. We are locals and will never ever go back there and I will never recommend it to any friends or customers either.

One lady working here was quite rude to the guests. After leaving something in our room after check out I asked to grab the object only to get a sigh and an unwilling escort to the room. Not only that, the pool had hair and dirt in it and the changing room weren't that clean. Children ranging from the ages of 8-14 were accused of locking a pool door for the female changing room even though they did not leave the pool, even after a family of mostly females left two minutes before the rude lady yelled at them. There were no fridges and an old box TV that didn't work right. We are locals and the service just surprised us everything else in the town is run by professional, polite people. Needless to say won't be back again

Great hotel! I stayed here for three nights, the town is nice, small, and quiet. Perfect for a getaway! The staff was very professional and polite. When we had questions about swimming or checkout they answered very kindly without hesitation. For a small town they seemed pretty upbeat and excited. I love seeing mom and pop places everywhere I go. I would recommend to others to stay here!
