The boulevardier and vodka martini were not the best but still above average. For food, we had escargot, mussels, steak frites, the top of the hill (seafood pasta), and Dover sole. Crepe Suzette was really boozy, but the brioche bread pudding was amazing. Sometimes you go to a seemingly ordinary restaurant and walk out with an unexpected joy. This is one of those places. We'll certainly be back.
Great food and atmosphere!
Great place and had working a/c unlike some of the other businesses. My only complaint was I found a large rubberband in my clam chowder. I made light of it to the waitress saying I found their secret ingredient. She took the rubberband from the table, but we didn't get any kind of apology or compensation on the bill or offer to replace the soup. For such a nice place that charges a pretty penny, I would have expected at least an apology from management, and in most places they would comp the soup or offer something else in exchange. Otherwise, all of the other items we had were really great, including the chorizo mussels.
Outstanding service from bartender. Great atmosphere. Definitely a spot to hit when your in Santa Barbara.
Had one of the best steaks of my entire life at Sly's. Unpretentious and the food and service was amazing.
Nice upscale eats. Lots of alcohol to chose from. Smaller portions. Great service.
The spaghetti carbonera is amazing. Unreal selection of wines up into the $4000+ range.
The largest prawns I've ever been served in a prawn cocktail!
Abalone Benedict as well as abalone steak with eggs next to Dutch boy caramelized apple pancakes covered in berries. I have eaten at restaurants around the world and never seen abalone eggs benedict until I stopped and paused while walking back from the main walk in Carpinteria, California. Sly's is unique. Tourists have to try the dishes at Sly's. The atmosphere was gorgeous with wood bars, wine bottles and large windows down the path from the ocean side park. Sly's restaurant is one of the reasons you need to stay at least one night in Carpinteria while on vacation in California. I would return to Carpinteria just to share the experience of dining at Sly's with my family, especially after walking along the shore.
Excellent food, great selection and quality. They have bay scallops on the menu and the description claims they are the 'Worlds Best Scallops'I think they are correct! Best scallops I have ever had anywhere. This is also probably the best steak house in Carpinteria. Also very good deserts. The plain cheesecake is the best around.
My boyfriend and I had one of the best meals of our lives. We shared the porterhouse and Nantucket scallops. to die for. Yum!! Our server Michael was brilliant, we are so excited to come back one day! :)
