I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Although the place is a bit cramped the atmosphere was pleasant. We had several appetizers but my favorite was the tuna poke. For my entree I chose the swordfish and was very pleased. It was well seasoned and very meaty. The root vegetables were prepared just right. For dessert I enjoyed the coconut sorbet. It was the proverbial icing on the cake. Service was great as well. The hostess was friendly and the server was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend SNOBS!
The food was really excellent great flavors. The reason for the three star:
1. My fish and my dates fish were over cooked.
2. When we informed our server, he was a little bit snobbish. We weren't looking for our meal to be comped or anything. But at most nice restaurants when you spend a hundred fifty bucks for two, you would expect to be offered a complimentary drink, appetizer, or dessert.
This restaurant had some of the best steak I've ever had. It is definitely worth the price. This was my honeymoon destination. Service was prompt and the staff was very courteous. I had the steak with truffle butter and I still think about it from time to time. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Best restaurant meal I've had in ages. The atmosphere was nice - classy but pleasantly bustling - my waitress was very attentive and friendly, and my food came quickly. I got the scallops and was blown away by the quality and the great combination of flavors. Serving size was generous enough that I probably should have had leftovers, but I ate it all, and I can't say I regret it.
S.N.O.B. looks too much like it's trying to be upscale when it really isn't. Dishes are well plated but they're massive in portion size and without a lot of nuance in flavor. Given its close proximity to the harbor it seems more fitting for the tourists pouring off the cruise ships than for locals. If you want large portions and don't care too much about taste (you like to eat Applebee's a lot) it's fine.
This place gets busy, but the food and service were great! We sat at the kitchen table in the back and loved it! It was almost immediately available and no one else joined us all night! You're close to the kitchen and you can watch some of the action, while you wait.
We had a reservation at 7:30 pm and we got there at 7:38, thanks to the parking facility in Charleston. By the time we were served the food it was 8:30 pm , which would have been fine if we didn't have a whining toddler along. Our server had the presence of mind to bring the side for our daughter before the meal, which helped with some level of whining. The food was good. The corn bread served on the house was absolutely delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the trigger fish entree and my scallops were perfect except for the last one which was gritty. Everything on the plate was perfect though. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for dessert. I wouldn't call the place kid friendly. The staff was nice but the patrons were snobbish.
Great service. Great drinks. Chicken and waffles was some of the best I've ever had. Went for brunch, but someone wanted something off the dinner menu that was had on a previous visit -- kitchen accommodated no questions asked. HIGHLY Recommend this place. No patio; recommend reservations.
So to start out this place honestly deserves 5 stars but for me personally it wasn't 5 stars and I will tell you why.
So I went to SNOB with my best friend while he was in town and felt totally out of place. We were walking by and randomly able to get a table with only a 5 minute wait, which apparently never happens. Now I can get cleaned up pretty good, but we were not planning on going there so we were dressed inappropriately, we were in casual cloths when everyone else was in business formal or at the minimum business casual. So I felt pretty out of place.
The second thing that got me was the prices, now I know this is a 5 star restaurant and as such the prices will be inflated, but I think there was like only one thing on the menu for 15$ with just about everything else being 20$ and up. Cocktails were all 9$ and up as well.
Now with all of that being said the Food was excellent. I got the Shrimp and grits and it was honestly the best I have had at a restaurant. My cocktail was good but hard to justify the price personally.
I can say that I would go back here but only on a special occasions if invited by certain people.
Food was great. Cocktails are okay. We were particularly fond on the cornbread and our hostess was kind enough to pack some for us to bring home along with our leftovers.
I woke next morning pretty excited to have some cornbread, however, when I opened my leftover boxes there were no cornbread-- had a pretty disappointing morning to say the least.
Excellent meal and good service. Hostess a bit standoffish, but hardly worth mentioning. First time there since Halls took over and all is well though we miss Dick Elliott. He truly made one feel welcome and always recognized the locals. Have the banana cream pie!
My husband and I can guess why S.N.O.B has such great reviews. I gave 3 stars based on appetizers and service alone. However, I could only give three stars because our entrees could have been better. My husband's soft shell crab dish was devoid of seasoning. My lamb was good and would have been perfect cooked at medium and not medium rare. I recognize that I could have sent the lamb back but I'm not in the habit of doing that and didn't expect to need to in this type of restaurant. I just honestly expected more for the price.
Terrific food, outstanding service and elegant ambiance combine to make this an enchanting restaurant. The kitchen, management and staff work together in an impressive orchestration. The decor is extremely inviting as well.
The food was superb and this was our finest dining experience in Charleston. Now if they could only make the downtown parking issue go away
Hands down the best food we've ever eaten! So impressed with everything, we went to celebrate my birthday during restaurant week. We got 3 courses for $40 per person. Menu choices were excellent, decent amount of variety. Everything came out wonderful- we raved about it all the way home. Can't wait to go back.
