This place SUCKS! There’s no nicer way of putting it! It’s very run down, beds are like sleeping on bricks. Rooms probably haven’t been updated since 1970! Supposed to have 2 restaurants. Only one was open and the food was nasty frozen OVER PRICED “bar food”. The other restaurant was shut down by the health department due to the roof falling apart(a snowshoe employee told us that). Since it is a “lodge”, I wasn’t expecting any “hotel-like” services from housekeeping. But housekeeping helped themselves into our room and stole cash while we were out skiing. Stole cash from my wallet and my 10 year old daughters wallet that had her Christmas money in it. Again,, according to the front desk NOBODY was supposed to be going into our room so we thought it was safe! We had to fill out a police report of which the cop didn’t even care to hear what happened. He just handed me a paper and said “here just fill this out”. The skiing is just “ok”. Slopes are over crowded. I would NEVER stay here again nor do I recommend it!

2017 dec 22 Having been here 5+ times since 98 I was expecting a refurbished, renovated place. 20 years ago this was a great place. Not anymore. Staff is great. Rooms are decent (all are owners rooms, so this isn't a hotel more like a giant rbrb )
Slopes are great. Night ski is wonderful. Tubing hill is superb. But the place needs investment badly. No food court. There is one restorant, one small bar from 11-7 but it lacks everything else. Dated, worn, stuck in the 90's.
This place could be a gold mine with some good investment. Skiing here is better then at the village.
Heard that a new company bought the place during past summer and started to refurbish the place. I hope they do. If there is snow this place is awesome but needs to be elevated to the level of the Snowshoe village. Will keep checking the updates and if there are improvements we will return.

My favorite slopes, but the décor is dated, food is cafeteria style, bar is decent, and rates aren't cheap. It's expensive to stay here for what you get. Put it this way, if you have friends and a free place to stay, flying to Colorado to ski would cost roughly the same.

Pros: Our room was clean and well maintained. The pool and hot tub area was also great. Views and location are top notch. Lots of activities close by.
Cons: Our room was tiny, with a queen size Murphy bed built into the wall. When the bed was folded open, the room was full. The bed had no support and my wife and I found ourselves sliding to the middle of the bed through the night. During off season, the hotel is empty of staff and you need to check in/out at the Allegany Springs. There was also construction going on at the hotel. I was woke up every morning at 7:30 to the sound of hammers, drills and power saws coming from a nearby floor.

Beautiful view plenty of luggage carts pool and jacuzzi were sparkling clear and perfect temperature! Cant wait to return!!!

Money Pit - Not worth the money. I came here with my three daughters to get away for a little bit and to go snow tubing. Got here and the tube park is closed even though it's been cold enough to make plenty of snow and the ski season doesn't officially close until March 21st. Then bought swimsuits for them downstairs in one of the very expensive shops so we could go swimming then found out the pool is 60 degrees Fahrenheit because of the heating issue they've been having and has been out for a while. Basically just sat up in the room for about $900. Will never come back here again and will continue to go to Sugar Mountain and Hawks Nest for future skiing and snow tubing from now on. Waste of time and money, very disappointed. On a positive note, the room was very nice, spacious and well kept. I figured I had to say something positive.

Don't plan on returning ever. Studio which was very dated and expensive ($200/night). This isn't Vail, it's a mediocre mountain in WV. The only nice thing is it's slope side to the less crowded/smaller part of the mountain.

The bad? Couldn't control the heater. The heater guard was broken and really unsafe. At one point something shorted and there was a huge spark that nearly burned my leg. Bed was uncomfortable. Service was pathetic - 3 towels max and if you want more you have to turn in your other towelsand it took 2 hours to get them. Appliances looked like they were from 1970. Food at silvercreek was poor and expensive. At least they had a little bar on site.

Snowshoe mountain itself? Ok if you are local, but not worth the drive otherwise. Runs are decent but the lift lines were obscene. Food in the village was also pretty lame, although Old Spruce was pretty good. Really no night life going on though. And $100 lift tickets? Ridiculous.

All in all, unless you are in the area, I would say go somewhere else. This place is not worth the prices they charge.

Silver Creek is great for an economical way to stay, ski, and have a great time. If you are looking for 5star amenities and finishes, you may want to consider the newer units at Snowshoe Village. We stayed in the standard economical room. It was a 1 bedroom unit, with 1 bathroom, wood burning fireplace, and a full kitchen. The unit was clean, ready, and properly equipped with items we would need for our 1 week stay. No high end finishes, but nothing was broken either. I would stay here again with no problems.

Every single thing was just perfect. The slope was right next to our room and the service was fantastic. Also, the room had every utensil we needed to cook. A few things we did not like was that the room phone did not work properly, the only service provider was AT&T, and there were some damaged spots on the walls and the bed. Overall, love it!
