It's a private getaway that was worth every penny!! Took the wife there for a long weekend of one on one time, and we left all our stress there!! What a time!! Staff was very accommodating, and we were located so close to everything we wanted. Definitely returning :)

The receptionist was super friendly. The room we booked had been damaged by previous guest so we were upgraded to another room. The view over the lagoon was amazing! The room was quaint but dated. It is not located on a beach as suggested by their website but very private and quiet. It is closely located to Siesta Key beach and village. We had a great time while we stayed.

Loved our bungalow with the huge screened in porch. Tortuga bungalow has a big living space. Everything was very clean with beach decor. Very quiet and peaceful. Lagoon has lots of birds and easy kayaking! Free trolley to all area attractions.

Very clean and spacious rooms. Bikes and kayaks available. The beaches and restaurants are within a nice 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive.

First the bad news. When you first drive in to the place it doesn't look like much, also no direct access to a beach. Then you walk to the office and the magic starts. This is "old Florida" lodging. Nice spacious room overlooks the shaded courtyard and small (but uncrowded) pool. Tables and chairs around the property have beautiful views of the lagoon (no swimming in the lagoon but there are 2 kayaks). The rooms are clean and functionally modern but not shiny new looking. Short drive (or free cab) to beaches and Siesta Key downtown. This is a pretty, quiet place for you to pause while enjoying the area. You could stay at a large, crowded hotel that tries to replicate the atmosphere of SKB or you can have the real thing. This was our first trip to the sun coast but it won't be our last and we will be staying at SKB.

There are no bicycles here! And only 2 kayaks.

Pros: beautiful location, awesome vegetation, friendly manager, quiet and peaceful.

Cons: no bicycles as advertised, outdated rooms. We had to whisper in our room because the front windows are so thin that you can hear a normal level conversation outside.

Overall, I feel that these bungalows are way overpriced. We paid $650 for 3 nights, and any way I try to jusitify the valueI just can't do it. We wouldn't visit again unless there was a steep reduction in the priceit's worth $150/night MAX

We've always had a great experience at this place everytime we go. There's lots to do for young families like ours in the surrounding area and the staff are courteous and professional and the owners are amazing people. The pool is very refreshing and enjoyable after a long day at the beach. Our favorite Bungalow is the catamaran. We stayed in coconut before but it was somewhat small for our family. They have an online reservation process which is very convenient. Some of the property is dated, but everything was very enjoyable for us.
