Great restaurant for Strongsville. Have had better around the country and in Ohio, but this place is definitely one to check out
The food has always been great here every time I've been in. The chefs are also very good at entertaining. I would definitely recommend this place.
Bad customer service and food has also deteriorated over the years. Recently I ordered Sushi for lunch. It was terrible. The last time I went to the restaurant had to stand at the reception for 15 mins before some one even acknowledged that we were there. This place used to be good but not any more. There are better Hibachi options in Strongsville now.
Love this place ! Have a great time here every time I go. The GM was really helpful too when I had questions about the menu. Highly recommend
Seriously Ryan is amazing! I really appreciate his hospitality! He went above and beyond! Definitely would recommend Shinto!! They are the best!!
Always a favorite restaurant for special occasions. It can be pricey depending on what you eat but you pay for great food and a show as your dinner is being prepared. We had a wonderful chef named Oliver who took great care of us, the food is amazing and he was pretty good with the grill. The server was very diligent about drinks and making sure we liked our food. Would recommend to any one. Not for children though.
First off it is a special occasion type of place. But once a year I come home so happy and full. If you can get Mike Jones as your chef you will leave with your checks hurting from laughing. Oh and a great talented chef as well. But all this chefs are good and you will be satisfied . With all the grills going be sure to dress like its summer. This place gets hot. The waitresses and bartender's are professional and always close by if you need a drink or refreshment.
Shinto is always good, consistent which I like. I will say the catering (we were there for a private party recently) is no where near as good as what you get when you actual eat there and order. They also have really good sushi.
More of a night club / bar if you go after 8pm. They offer great sushi, though and good drink prices.
My wife and I have been going here since they opened, usually a couple of times a year. She loves sushi, and they do a great job at the sushi bar. So. why the one star review you ask? In the last 12 months, we have had our reservation screwed up three times. The most recent was this past Mother's Day. We had a 3:30pm reservation for the whole family for hibachi, and they called an hour beforehand and cancelled it. Totally unacceptable! On the 2 other occasions in the last 12 months we had reservations and were turned away, the first time we had out of town guests with us. Was embarrassing to have to pack them back in the car and find another place last minute. No form of compensation for our wasted time and inconvenience were offered any of these 3 times, in fact, the staff were quite dismissive each time, like it was somehow our fault.
Johnny Bravo was an excellent chef; complimentary, courteous, and fun! Made my husband and me feel like we were dating again. Delicious food, classy-fun atmosphere.
My entire family loves this place. We always take our kids (18-26) out for their birthday and very often they choose this place. The cooks are always fun and do a great job of entertaining while they prepare your meal. They have a very good selection of sushi, and most of their creations are very good. I feel that the food is a little overpriced for the quality. However, as I mentioned earlier I'm often overruled and end up here for a nice evening with the family.
The front hostess stand always seems clueless and avoiding customers rather than greeting them. (3rd time, still happening)I would advise quickly replacing them. The wait staff seems to be improving. The only time I would suggest the hibachi is if you enjoy eggshell in your small portions. Gotta love chefs more drunk than the patrons. The only reason this place got 3 stars is the half off sushi night on Tuesday which is worth trying. Other than that, save your money.
