This place has great appetizers, seafood and steaks! I ordered a rare steak and it was perfect! The crab cake appetizer was seasoned perfectly.

Visited for lunch last Fall and decided then we had to stay. So we stayed Aug 2017 Great check in. Enjoyed room with balcony. Mini splits for heat/ AC. Quiet relaxing. Architecture can be a study in itself. Great dinner in restaurant. Continental breakfast on real cups saucers plates. No plastic or paper. Great experience, will return to enjoy Sheridan and Lexington, VA .

Wonderful experience, lovely dining room which hearkens back to the days of the Great Gatsby. Our eyes were caught by the gorgeous art nouveau windows along the side, and when we entered the restaurant, we were not disappointed. Quite elegant. Try the Apple JuJu cocktail you will not regret it!

This hotel has a lot of small town charm to it. That is the best part about it; however to make it a bit more relaxing, it could use some updates. I love the high ceilings and traditional pieces that are in the room. There is so much space in the room, so there is plenty of room to move around. The TV for the room is way too small. I didn't use it while I was there, but it could really use an update. My biggest gripe about the place was the ironing board. It was mini sized, and that's just unacceptable. Trying to iron a dress shirt for a business meeting with the ironing board on the floor or bed is just a pain in the butt.
My dinner here was fairly decent. I really enjoyed the dessert, a hazelnut cheesecake. I would highly recommend that.response / report this review -

I was here for a rehearsal dinner. The food was delicious and the staff was helpful and attentive. I wasn't improved with the outdoor seating area we were in though. Maybe the inside is more impressive.

Enjoyed a late afternoon lunch while visiting the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the food and upscale choices on the menu for lunch. We enjoyed the mini crab cakes, crab dip appetizers, crab bisque, and the chicken salad and BBQ sandwiches. Everything was excellent and it was just like enjoying a nice meal in NYC but better prices! A great find in the area. Our server was pleasant and helpful as well. When we visit again, we'll definitely be back.
