Have been here for about 6 or 7 haircuts since moving to Charlotte. They always do a very good job. I'm not picky on who cuts my hair so I've never had the same person, but each person does a fantastic job. Price is fairly high but you get a free beer or simple mix drink when you get there, straight razor on the back of your neck , steam towel and head massage/wash. Atmosphere is awesome. However the front desk people are sometimes rude and it doesn't seem like they want to be there. A few times my haircut did feel rushed. Last straight razor cut was very close and as a result I had razor bumps that turned into acne on the back of my neck.

I love this place and all the services they offer (haircut, straight razor shave, beard trim, and BEARD FACIAL!!). They take excellent care of my beard and hair. Tabitha is amazing and always shapes my beard perfectly and gives a perfect cut. The rest of the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Great value for the price plus you get a drink while you wait. If you are a guy who is serious about his grooming this is where you should go!

Katrina is such a pleasant person to have a conversation with, and the hair cut came out even better than expected. Shear Excellence knows how to pick the best people, and they nail the atmosphere. If you want to experience pampering done right, do yourself a favor and get a haircut at Shear Excellence!

I moved to Charlotte in January this year and have been struggling to find a regular person to cut my hair that does a decent job. I stumbled across Shear Excellence by searching "Men's Haircut" in Google and they came up and noticed all the good reviews so I decided to give them a chance. My stylist, Tabitha, was great, energetic, and willing to explore options with me on what will look good and what will not look good. The service did not feel rush and included an awesome hair wash and scalp massage with a hot towel. While waiting, you also have your choice of beverage: water, a selection of craft beers , and coffee. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a regular barber in Charlotte that does not do the "rush" haircut like other competitors.

If you are seeking the highest quality in men's hair look no further! I have literally never had a bad cut here. They do an excellent job of hiring extremely talented stylist and have cultivated a environment of sophistication without breaking the bank. After tip, I normally spend around $50 for a cut and do so gladly as I ALWAYS come home looking like a million bucks. Seriously. Give them a try! I promise you'll never go anywhere else.

Cool place! Only problem I had was parking, but unless you're blind like me you'll notice the parking deck right beside the place! LeeAnne cuts my hair and simply put she is the best. I walk in point to my hair and say fix this and she does her magic! Never have I ever left disappointed! Prices my seem high but you get a free drink (beer included) razor shaved neck trim plus a massage..you really can't beat that!

Absolutely love this place. First you're welcomed with a complimentary drink then handled by professionals with awesome personality. LeeAnne is by far the best stylist I've had and is always excited to see me. She's not only hilarious and awesome, but does a phenomenal job and always has me looking my best. 10/10

Tabitha is an excellent cutter. She really knows what she's doing! Very well run. Efficient, courteous staff. Decor is definitely geared toward men. TVs at every chair playing ESPN. Highly recommended!

I'm beyond impressed!
So, I've been struggling to find a good barber around here that I could actually schedule an appointment with without it being a huge hassle. These folks far exceeded my expectations. For $40, I was offered a complimentary beverage (water, coffee, whiskey, or beer), was able to schedule my appointment​ easily via email (very responsive!), got an excellent haircut, straight razor neck shave with a hot towel, hair wash and scalp massage with a hot towel, and Holly even made notes so she could help to improve my next hair cut. These folks have it figured out when it comes to making a perfect experience for us guys. There's even ESPN right there next to your chair. I doubt I'll be going anywhere else from now on!response / report this review -

Alli is a great stylist that is always punctual, energetic and personable. Best of all, she always seems to know exactly what style I want without having to go through details. It's the best service after a day at the office and I keep going back!

Live in ATL and needed a cut before the weekend. Tried out Shear Excellence based on the reviews. What a great experience. The place is nice and Carlie did a fantastic job. Go, you will not be disappointed and ask for Carlie.

I get my haircut here 2 times a month and wouldn't go anywhere else. AllI is the best! I don't have the easiest hair to cut but she does an awesome job! I'll go there everything and would recommend to anyone.

For me, the hardest part of moving to a new city is finding the right person and personality to be the one that touches your head in ways others never can or will. Tabitha at Shear Excellence has been my go-to for the past 2 years and is always entertaining, efficient and does an incredible job. If you have the opportunity to book with Tabitha, do it. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great place for a man to get a great haircut. This was my first time there and Mindy cut my hair and did a great job. It's been about a month and it has grown out really nice. I told her how I liked it and she did it! Wow I am impressed and will be going back to her. If your tired of going to 'Mystery Cuts' or 'Disaster Clips' then try this business. It's a little bit more expensive but it's worth it.
