I hate to do this to Shake Shack, because I love this place so much, but I had a crappy experience at this location. I very clearly stated two times that I would like a plain cheeseburger with just pickles and ketchup. When my order came out there was no cheese on my burger. I told the lady who took my order this and she said "you ordered a plain burger and that's what you got." I said I ordered a plain cheeseburger. She then continued to argue with me and then just left the pick up area. She didn't say what to do next so I took my tray and went back to give my husband his part of the order. I go back up to the front and she looks at me and says "I'm gonna need that burger back". I had already touched it and she never told me what to do with it, so how am I supposed to know. I then get my cheeseburger handed to me with an attitude. All this to say, I know it's a small error, but there is no Shake Shack where I live so I look forward to getting to experience them while traveling. They need to work on their customer service!!! Once my order was correct, the food was delicious as always.

It's great that this place opens till pretty late. It calls for a good and tasty spot to go after a few drinks during the late nights. The staff and service here is really good. Everyone is friendly and the food comes fairly quickly.

You just can't beat Shake Shack for burgers, and this one delivers just as it should. Plenty of seating with an upstairs level as well as the main doning area. The super-fast-dispensing ketchup machine is a nice treat for a busy place. They tend to call you for food about a minute before it's ready, which gives you plenty of time to get tgrough the crowd.

One of the better Shake Shack locations in DC. The Penn Quarter location gets packed from the touristy activities nearby, while the Union Station location has so-so service. The DuPont Circle Shake Shack has the best ambiance, food quality, and service out of the three Shake Shack's in the district, IMO. I like the two level set up and access to both Farragut and DuPont metro stops. Come here before the lunch rush so you can grab a spot by the windows and people watch as you eat!

The girl behind the register was in a bad mood. I felt like we were interrupting her. My burger was fresh, but super greasy. The restaurant was super slippery. The employees didn’t even care. I told one employee when I went to get my order and she seemed surprised. Before I could finish my greasy burger a lady slipped and fell down. Be careful with this restaurant.

As a Shake Shack fanatic, I really wanted to give this location 5 stars but I had a very unfortunate experience yesterday at lunch. Upon entering the store around 11:00, there was no line and I was able to place my order right away. However, after about 15-20 minutes while I was waiting for my food, a swarm of delivery drivers dominated the pick up counter. I physically saw my order ready on the counter and my buzzer buzzed. I held a vibrating buzzer in my hand for a FULL 20 minutes before I was handed my bag of cold food. The workers seemed to care more about fulfilling online orders. As a business owner myself, I understand that things can get crazy but 40 minutes for a cold burger and fries is pretty inexcusable.

👎 👎 review, not worth itI'm a first timer. nice place and expensive for small hamburgers they offer. It was busy when I came in.. Spent $18 for a combo when the burger came out it was small compared to what I paid and for what i was expecting to get😒😞 Ok customer service. Burgers not that good. I go to Morton's in D.C. at lunch sometimes and I pay for a burger there a couple of dollars more and get a good burger for almost the same price They are overpriced. wanted to try this burger place And its not worth it, when I know I can get a better quality burger some place else.

Very nice staff, they are very friendly. The food is ad you'd expect at any shake shack, in other words, great. Benefits in this location are ample place to sit down. Compared to other locations, this one has many seating locations. Additionally, location is key, very well located. All in all, great Shake Shack location.

Seemingly always busy, this establishment gets the job done. Be it burgers, fries or shakes, you'll pay on the higher end of fast food for a solid product.

Recently I enjoyed their chocolate shake. Pint sized it was smooth and not overly thick.

Sublime interpretation of grilled cow on bread. And they have beer, too. I hear the rest of their menu is also goodbut I'll never find out. The double Shack Burger makes my arteries jump for joy.

Honestly, much worse than I expected.

I've heard all the comparison tests about which burger chain is best, but since this was my first time in a city with Shake Shack, I finally was able to try it for myself. I was thoroughly disappointed.

I started by ordering a Shack Burger. They asked if I wanted fries and a drink. I said "no fries, no drink, but I do want a vanilla shake." Well, she rang me up for fries and a shake. She didn't read back the order though, so I thought that when the total was 15 dollars, maybe I was paying extra for cheese or a larger shake. Nope. 5+ for a small burger. 3 for fries. And 5+ for a shake. Whatever, I thought. This is Shake Shack it's gonna be great anyways.

I got my food, and it looked disappointing. I dug in, and it was worse. The crinkle cut fries were so thick they barely cooked through. They were cold in the very center, and soggy throughout. The bun for the burger was greasy because it was stuffed into the little paper wrapper. The lettuce on the burger was 1 single piece of flat, mushy lettuce (I was expecting thick, crunchy lettuce, or at least more than one piece). The lettuce felt like those bad pieces you get in a bag of spinach. The taste of the burger was fine, but nothing exceptional, and definitely not worth 5+ dollars. Lastly, I tried the shake. I popped the lid of, and it was only 3/4 full. And the cup looked like it was only 16oz or so. I wasn't expecting something HUGE, but for 5 dollars for a plain vanilla shake, you're only gonna give me 12oz, and it was already very melted!! The shake tasted fine, but by the end it was pretty much just milk and I drank it.

To conclude, Shake Shack was a complete let down. I went in with somewhat high hopes, but the whole experience was mediocre at best. Definitely 1 star.

Didn't get my order right and charged me for what I said I didn't want
WAY TOO EXPENSIVE (This would have been 4 stars if I had paid 4 or 5 dollars. For the price, my expectations were much higher.

We ordered the cheese fries, shack burger and the Jefferson custard. Fries and burgers were good! Next time, I would get the double patty rather than the single to fill me up. Custard was not very thick, not what we expected. Would get a shake or go without next time.

Great food. The BBQ chedder fries and smoke shack burger were amazing. Amazing shakes also. Outdoor seating available. It was very busy on Sat night but didn't have to wait long for my food. Went again the next day for lunch.
