The hosts/hostesses are also the actors in the performances so you actually get to talk to them between acts.
Most of their shows are just awesome! My wife and I love this place.
There are very few 2 person tables so you should be comfortable with sitting with strangers but we've always had very nice compatriots at our tables.

Very enjoyable experience with friends. All of the actors also serve as food servers. Fun show, really good music with talented singers. These people work really hard to provide a great experience for all. Not much parking and ridiculously slow and cumbersome pay station for parking. Allow an extra 10 minutes to stand in line to pay for parking and you better know your license plate number.

Shadowbox is always an outstanding experience! The artists/actresses/artists are super friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure each guest's complete satisfaction. We go every year to the family-friendly Christmas feature and it never disappoints. Well worth the drive from Cincinnati to the easy-to-access Front Street location, right off I71. The rock shows, burlesque shows, and comedic acts are excellent as well.

Great local venue for original theatrical performances. Live music and great lighting and effects. Actors are wonderful and also the serving and kitchen staff before the performance so you get to see them and interact with them up close and in person. I'm not a big theatre person but I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would recommend it to others.

Always a pleasure to visit. I prefer their musicals over the sketch shows. Stage is amazing, wish the seating were made up of half-tables exclusively, as if you arrive late you often end up sitting on the side of the table facing away from the stage and having to turn around to watch. Cast and crew is an amazing group. One of the only places you can come and see a live music/performance show where the actors are also your waiters! Easy to make friends and have a great time.

Great music and performances. The musicals are my favorite, but the occasional "comedy and rock & roll" show is enjoyable too. The food is good and the atmosphere is fun. If you've never been, you really need to try it.

This crew puts on some pretty fantastic shows, especially for the cost. I wish there were options for more comfortable seats. I have some issues with my back and sitting on the chairs they have for a whole show can be tough for me because of it. The seats may also be tougher for people who are heavier set, but everyone there is so friendly that it's worth giving going at least once a try.

The food they make there is definitely worth it and they're willing to make changes based on your dietary needs. The staff that makes the food and serves often also performs, so if you want food, I would say show up some good amount of time beforehand to make sure they can have the opportunity to give you good service as it does get much busier for them around Showtime. All in all it's a lovely place for a date night or just being with friends/family.

Great place to see a live comedy sketch show or music rock. Drink selection is pretty standard and reasonably priced for the atmosphere. Wait staff is always incredibly friendly and fun.

Saw a Backstage Bistro show and it was really funny. I didn't like the bistro's food overall, the pizza was very burnt on the bottom and the top, but the appetizers were good and the service is fantastic. Also, the show was so good that it completely made up for it. The parking in the lot is paid, but it is also convenient.

For our third consecutive visit, we got extremely poor service. Two visits ago we arrived well before ordering cut-offs but the process of seating and no one coming to get our order promptly, we had to wait until intermission to get hot food. Then we went to a late show, ordered drinks and never saw our server again. We would have liked to order more drinks. Someone else finally showed up with our check. we arrived well before any cutoff time. Heard the announcements for 15, 10 and 5 minutes to hot food cut off. Finally grabbed a food runner to see if we could order (hadn't even gotten to order drinks after being seated for 20+ minutes) so we left. We purposefully hadn't eaten anything so drinking was not a good option nor did we want to wait an hour plus until intermission to eat.

The restroom in the bistro had out of order signs on 2 of the 3 urinals and 1 of two stalls. Paper towel dispenser was broken so a roll was just sitting on the counter. The more diversified it becomes, the less they seem to do right. Might be past time to do less but do it well.

I've been going to Shadowbox Live since it was in Spring St(19 years). The shows are always fantastic/hilarious; I've never been disappointed! I definitely recommend visiting this place at least once, especially if you are a visitor to Columbus. There's nothing else like Shadowbox Live. They are a non-profit business, and they have a program for high school student who don't have arts programs in their schools. If you have younger children who like to put on a show, they have Play Cafe in the summer and other times of the year. You can pick any night, and there will be always something going on.

Shadowbox is an amazing place to go. I love seeing the shows and the energy of the actors. They are really amazing. The set up of the place is great too. I love that they serve food before and during intermission of the show. And the actors come to you to talk and greet you. The productions that they write/create are always superb!
