We booked this last minute as a place to lay our heads while fishing in the keys and wouldn't have wanted to spend any more time in the crack motel then that. Absolutely disgusting!! The room was small and to say that it was dirty is an understatement. Sat on the bed upon check in and the comforter had what appeared to be pieces of rat poop on it . The bathroom door doesn't close and I would never use the shower. The front door did close but that is not effective when there is a large open crack at the bottom of the door to let in bugs and critters. Upon checking out we did a sweep of the room to make sure nothing was left behind and looked under the bed big mistake. Yuck. Looked like when ever they do happen to "clean " the room, it is all swept under the bed.

To give this motel a one-star review is severely pushing it. Where our room had two bedrooms, it was dirty, full of blood-looking stains, and overall had bad vibes. We found the bathroom floor covered in water. It looked like house keeping would sweep all trash and dust under the beds. While we were sleeping, someone in our party awoke itchy and covered in bed bugs. She now has bites all over her body. We paid about $100 for that room and it was a total dump. I have traveled all over the country before and stayed in many hotel and motels- this was BY FAR the worst one I have ever been to. The owner is rude and did not give us our money back. I am glad we escaped this motel without getting murdered or catching STDs from the toilet

    The view was nice but,
    DISGUSTING room
I found a weave braid next to my pillow!
Nail clippings on and under the bed, a used up q tip
Bed bugs galore. Old beds and just horrible!
It smelled like pee and it was very dirty overall :/ so sad! I left way earlier due to all of this issues. Someone please hire a decent housekeeper for this place.

This place is disgusting. Do not stay here!!! The owner does not clean or maintain at all, just sweeps between guests. Room 6 has bedbugs and he doesn't care!!!!! Windows let in so much heat the room never cools below 85 and mini blinds are ripped and broken. We had to cover windows with tarps for any privacy. Would give 0 stars if possible.

I am not picky about hotels but this place is a total dump. There is no bathroom mirror. The room is cramped and stinks like mildew. Staff sleep in their cars and smoke marijuana outside my window. I suppose that the dope stench helps cover mildew. The bed is what my wife and I refer to as the rack of pain. We actually went out and purchased a foam topper so we could sleep. Most places in the keys are old and I'm always fine with that. But these people just don't care about you having a nice time. Want to ruin your trip? Stay here

The place was cute and definitely a good last minute option for lower cost. The gentleman who helped us was extremely friendly and nice to work with. The room seemed kind of dirty and extremely outdated but again, the price was cheap.

This hotel is exactly what it claims to be "stuck in the 50s with Keys charm." The issue other guests are having is they're expecting the Hilton and are disappointed when that's not what they get but again, that's not what's advertised . This is a great experience for the family or a romantic getaway. Does it have immense amenities or modern rooms? No lol but it's cute, 5-10 miles from everything fun in Marathon, and affordable- hard to come by in the Keys.

Definitely better than the 1-star ratings would attest. It didn't seem dirty, though there was a bar of soap in the shower left over from the previous guest, so I wonder how thorough housecleaning was. By far the biggest problem was the light coming in through the window from the street light (we were in #2 near the front) and the hotel's own light. The "blinds" were wholly inadequate and it was almost light enough to read in all night. Noise wasn't bad. Towels were super-thin and small. I know it's one of the cheapest places on the island but for over $100, the light situation is inexcusable -- they can afford decent shades.
