My kids love this zoo. It's local for us, and easy to get to. They have some nice exhibits, and a few small shows. It's also really inexpensive. An annual family pass (2 adults and up to 4 kids) is only $79. It's not a huge place, so don't expect to spend a whole day there, but it will definately occupy a few hours.
Great place for toddlers. You can relax and watch the kids play on the playground while having lunch. Then, stroll around the zoo or farm. My daughter especially liked riding on the little train. The zoo is small and not overwhelming. We became members.
Clean and organized but too small. Some animals seem to be there for rehabilitation purposes which should be the case for all the animals.
The Santa Ana Zoo has a lot of fun animals for the price. While they are known for their monkeys, there are also camels, macaws, ocelots, and lemurs. It's also a great place to go if you want to practice photography. If you like visiting zoos you might want to consider getting a membership, which gives you unlimited access or discounted access to zoos across the country.
An undwhelming atmosphere with a side of emptiness from zoo with a storied background. The play area provides the most excitement for eager children. I would have given one star if it weren't for the hilariously charming train conductor. His witty puns and charming demeanor saved the day for the adults.
Great Zoo for little ones. Small enough for a quick outing. Reasonable pricing. Though I recommend bring a cooler with drinks and picnic. Lots of places inside and outside to sit.
Like most families, our family came from Canada to visit Disneyland and Universal Studios, yet the Santa Ana Zoo turned out to be one of our most memorable days! This zoo is a very nice escape from the crowds, lineups and noise of other attractions! Santa Ana Zoo is small, quaint and personable (the staff have a lot to do with this).
A good indication of a great zoo is that the animals themselves seem happy. I have never experienced animal encounters like we did at Santa Ana Zoo. We will definitely be back on our next visit! Thank You!
This is a GREAT little zoo to take kids under , say 7 years old. You can see the whole thing in under 2 hours, but there's plenty of reasons to stay longer. There's a beautiful carousel, a farm area to walk around that the kids love and the train ride is a must. It's short(but just right for a 2 and 4 year old), and the conductor is terrific and has a great tour-talk. And so the kids can get out of the stroller and unwind, there's a playground with 2 areas, one for tots and one for 5 and up. Very enjoyable without walking miles and spending all day(of course I could spend hours watching the energetic little monkeys).
I didn't enjoy myself while I was here. Because of the heat, my now ex-girlfriend was starting to get light headed and almost passed out. So I ran to the snack bar to get some water. The lady behind the counter had no scene of urgency. She took the orders of the other customers as slow as she could that I had to call and check up on her using my cell phone to see if she wasn't dead! I dont plan on ever coming back
Zoo is amazing. Still here and already writing this review. Amazing time. Minus one star for food worker Maritza. Very rude young lady and to top off her attitude she put my change into the counter and not in my hand when I ordered food. I dislike being mistreated after paying for entrance anywhere so I will not be returning. As long as you do not want food you should have a good time here
great neighborhood zoo in a city not known for it's wildlife. Minus 1 star for early closing hours and tight parking in front (overflow available) Pave the overflow! great value with an annual pass. friendly staff and never super busy. It's not the San Diego zoo, so don't expect flying whales, but a great day with the little kids.
This zoo has a special place in our family's heart because it has helped spark a love of biology and zoology in all of us. The staff is always friendly and ready to answer almost any question. The animals and exhibits are very well taken care of. It isn't the biggest zoo but it is well loved by many. I do highly recommend the any eater exhibit as well as the prehensile tailed porcupine.
This is a great little zoo, especially for younger kids, with enough going on to keep adults interested over multiple trips. My toddler loves the monkeys and feeding the goats, and it's small and not too busy in the mornings so he can walk around independently. The membership is a good deal for local families and gives access to other little zoos in the area. The staff is always friendly, and today when I dropped my phone while wrangling two little ones they sent someone out in the rain to find it and bring it back to the zoo office.
