Hard to rate everything, because all we had were raw oysters, but they were excellent, as was the service
Wonderful sushi. Excellent oysters. Great place
Nice atmosphere, good food, pricey for amount but quality is great
My husband got his start cooking at Saltus many many years ago. We returned to beaufort for our first anniversary and a trip to Saltus was for our special night. The atmosphere is absolutely divine with impeccable decor. The menu is nice and trendy, but small enough so you can really chose what you want to eat. The oyster bar is out of this world and we highly recommend it! The food is the best I have ever tasted (besides my husbands 😉). Brian Waters knows what he is doing and has a hell of a crew (and this was the reason my husband chose to reserve Saltus for our anniversary). We couldn't have asked for a better meal or night. You absolutely HAVE to visit Saltus River Grill. We certainly will, anytime we make it to Beaufort!
I usually don't waste my time rating anything. I would not like for any business to decline for lack of management.
We have visited this restaurant about six times. Four times we enjoyed it , the food was ok and at least once we had a waitress who was an older lady with great knowledge of the menu. Two times it was good experiences. Once the waiter did not know the menu and the food was terrible. The last time, oct 12,2017, we were there at happy hour but after receiving the bill we found that the drinks were not discounted. Bartender said only certain drinks were for happy hour. We paid $100.00 dollars for some sushi and 4 drinks. Very small drinks , mostly ice. We were celebrating an anniversary and it was a disappointing experience. We will select a different restaurant on the next occasion . I think the management must have changed. This was a ripoff.
The food was delicious.
I had Salmon; my husband had a salad with shrimp.
The setting was lovely.
I have some diet restrictions which were easily accommodated.
$$$$
Unfortunately if I am paying $32 for an entree and $12 for a glass of wine, I would prefer not to sit next to a table with a screaming newborn.
This was at 9pm on Sunday night.
Beautiful view of the water. Friendly wait staff. Exceptional wine list. Delicious food. Pricey.
Everything was ridiculously delicious. We sat at the bar and watched the chefs roll up the sushi, which was a lot of fun. I just hate that this place is several hours away from where we live. I can't wait to come back. Worth making the trip just for the food.
We had a great first experience at Saltus last night. We made reservations on the drive down from Charleston and had no problem getting a table. Nicholas, our server, embodies the spirit of hospitality and service - he was a true delight. The food was delicious - I've never had a better crab bisque in my life than I did at Saltus. Our selection of this restaurant was a shot in the dark by some out-of-towners, but I will make it a point to return in the future.
Food is AWESOME! a little pricey, but you do get what you pay for. The night we went we sat outside and heard some live blues. A nice romantic evening if you wanted to make a date out of it. The restaurant is right on the water.
Had the freshest Cobia. Our server was fantastic and the restaurant was beautiful! They offered outdoor and indoor tables. Pricey but definitely a good date night place.
Their blackened dorado is a dish every human being should try. The wood grill is delicious too. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, both outside and inside (they have a live band on certain days), and the staff is helpful and friendly.
Pricey for Mother's Day brunch, small selection for $23. Was ok, not fabulous
Always happy to eat here! Great staff, great food. Tonight is fresh made white sangria, sushi and salad. Yum! Thanks!
