Check-in with a complimentary champagne was an amazing touch to start it all off. Beautiful property, super hospitable staff. Room was gorgeous and comfortable, pool area nice and relaxing. Views are amazing with beautiful grounds for a walk. Peaceful and perfect location for this type of resort. 4 Stars because the on-site restaurant should have been better and likely is. Prices at T.Cooks were in line and felt right for on-site dining at this level of resort (Approx. $300 for a couple 4-course dining with drinks & Tip) some food was great, but dispite the exciting menu, we found the food itself not-so.

Newly acquired by the Hyatt. Since, structural improvements have been made.

TJ Cook's restaurant is nationally renowned.

    Ladies, check the spa packages.

Surroundings are popular for weddings and special gatherings.

The hallways are decorated with tile images, including regional names and last names crests from Spain.

Live music some nights, mixology every day with some original flavors, they make their own ginger beer.

A piece of Old - World Spain, in Phoenix/ Scottsdale.

    Hassle and Hustle
Since I posted my harsh review below, I made a discovery today as I prepared my expense report. Although I had pre-paid my stay through a third party, I discovered today that I had been charged double by Royal Palms.
Credit to them they recognized it quickly and corrected it, but it was a hassle. The error could not be solved at the local level in Phoenix as it required corporate intervention to reverse the charge.
So, they took care of it, and the accounting folks were very nice; but this was a HASSLE. And, that hassle was on top of the hustle I detailed in my earlier post. I just can't imagine how Royal Palms maintains their rating.

    This is a beautiful property!
It's a shame, however, that you feel like the hustle is on from the moment you pull onto the property. The valet parkers are on you like rabid dogs. Once they have captured your car keys and your luggage, you're trapped, and they know it. Get read to be exploited for a pricey on-site meal while your room is "being prepared". I've been to the Royal Palms three times, thanks to deals on an opaque booking site. Every experience has proven the same. It's the hustle.
Don't expect your in-room toiletries to be replenished. This is a spa. Expect to buy them.
Rooms are radically inconsistent. Some are very nice, and some are very ordinary.
And, don't expect 5 star turn down service. Expect to request it, only to be disappointed by a minimalist effort.
Nickel and dime. Nickel and dime. This is a pretty place to die by a thousand paper cuts.
    HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE.

My most favorite spot in the Valley! Love everything about it! Cooks has a great menu and Sunday morning buffet! You can even dine outside or great place for a wedding or party! We have held parties there and it was impeccable! Nice secluded spa & hotel!

Amazing place, fantastic and attentive service. Upon my checkout I spoke to one of the ladies who work there in management and was advised that Royal Palm will also become more family oriented, which I think is just awesome. Will definitely return.

Smaller than I expected but the grounds are beautiful. Only been here one night so far but everything has been lovely. Beds are super comfortable and the fitness center has awesome views (as do the rooms).

We decided to do my mother's birthday at T. Cooks which is the restaurant in the Royal Palm. Honestly it was pretty alright, I had the steak which was okay not great. My sister and her boyfriend both got salmon that was basically raw. Apparently this restaurant cooks fish to a medium temperature, which means raw I guess. However the manager came over and took care of it, e.g. got new salmon sent out right away so that was good. Other than that the desert was okay and the whipped potatoes were excellent. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to come here but it wasn't a terrible experience either.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the cheapest rates around

Used the spa. It's lovely. Very clean, air is fragrant, and they only use the best, most natural products. I had a full body massage and a custom facial. Facial was amazing, the massage was OK. A little disappointed, but the masseuse was very kind and attentive. The rest of the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I'll be coming back.

Very nice place, rooms are huge and comfortable. Resort complex is like an island - between pools, lounges and areas to sit all over the resort you never feel like your at a hotel. With camelback mountain in the background it's very picturesque. Only drawback is the lack of things to do that are within walking distance. You can walk

We stayed here on a business trip in Scottsdale. Let me tell you, I really felt like I am saying over at my friends place. Staff was really friendly. Desiree was really professional always on top of everything making sure everything is in place and running smooth. Taylor, Karen, Jessica and Jen were some of the other staff members I met and I can't thank enough to them, making my stay so enjoyable. I will never forget their smiling faces.

Wow. What a beautiful oasis. The property and buildings are quite unique with numerous outdoor and indoor fireplaces they keep lit, pools, fountains, walkways, outdoor socializing and eating areas, etc. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a wedding.

The rooms are also very impressive with deluxe bedding mattresses- not like your typical Marriott or Hilton beds but much nicer. Extremely supportive but also comfortable. Large tub with separate shower.
