The front desk girl was nice but the place was a dump! The room they put us in smelled weird and it was like 20° so I went to the turn the heater on and it make a super loud grinding noise. I was exhausted and couldn't take the noise so I told the front desk, she gave me another room no problem. My kid and I went to the other room and it smelled HORRIBLE! Omg! It was like a nasty sewer smell. I had to go to Walmart anyway so I bought air freshener and thankfully it helped! The blankets were very thin and overall I slept uncomfortably. I won't stay here again. Left at 6 am and kept on with my journey.

This was the lowest cost hotel in the area and I chose it for that reason. The room was clean, quiet and ample towels were provided which isn't always the case for a bargain hotel. Shuttle to the airport was a nice touch that I wasn't expecting either. Breakfast lacked any protein but I did appreciate a quick bowl of oatmeal.

Great for if you just need a place to sleep, breakfast was okay, nothing noteworthy. But adequate. Our bed was clean and made, the rest of the room they made it as nice as they could, folded the top tissue in the tissue box, towels were nice. But carpets were old,and stained, dust in all corners where floor meets wall, some garbage under the bed, the room was quite dark, the main part any way, even if one of the lamps did work (needed new bulb I think). It did have the basic amenities in the room. TV was quite basic though. Pool was closed due to winter, no indoor pool. Shower temperature was hard to control, low pressure with lava, or high pressure with ice cube soaked water. Nice big mirror though, actually two, one in room and one in bathroom.

I would like to give this hotel zero stars if possible. There is ZERO customer service!! I asked for a non-smoking room, bottom floor. I arrived to find only a top floor and a smoking room. I was then told take it or leave it and that it was not her job to assist me in finding another hotel. This was after a long trip with two older children in tow. I was looking forward to staying here as I come often to Salt Lake. I will never be back

Definitely an older hotel, good price though. Looked nice. Beds were decently comfortable. The sink had a leak so we were going through a lot of towels.

Although inexpensive and having an excellent location in central SLC, and with a competent and polite staff on reception and the cleaning teams, this motel is struggling to stave off the lowering quality of its physical structure. And scratch the 'free' breakfast, which is hardly worth the effort to crawl out of bed.

Still, a good deal on a limited budget. Heck, I've stayed there around 18 times. The 3rd star added because 2 stars felt not quite right.

Staff was cordial, room was decent size with two queen beds, and we didn't have any problems. The cons: no mini fridge, room's electrical wiring needed some work (some lights didn't work and a couple ballasts were broken/loose), and looked slightly like mold on the ceiling above the tub (not a ton, but still unnerving). Overall it was well worth it for the price, and only about 20 minutes away from Lagoon!

Visited Royal Garden Inn for a pool party. My only complaint is that anyone is able to come in/out of the area. Wasn't cool when a bunch of crackheads strolled in. Would be nice if it were accessable only by key.

Absolutely the worst motel in Utah! The lobby staff was rude at check in. What a horrible room. There were no electrical outlets to plug in things like phones and laptops. The ventilation system didn't work so you couldn't get any air in there and the room stunk. The carpet was so filthy I was afraid to take my shoes off. When I complained I couldn't breathe in there, they said there were no refunds once you've been in the room. DON'T STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!!!

The good thing a out this hotel is it's price and walking distance to events. The place is a dive and does not feel safe. Like something out of a gangster guetto movie. The only reason I stay is because of the price.

Worst hotel of my life. Run down. Broken key locks. Mold. Smoke in non smoking room. Cigarette burns in bedding (big ones). Filthy bedding. I walked into the room and left less than a minute later to ask for a refund. Two employees were at the desk and when I asked to see the manager they would not look at me or answer me. After I had asked for several minutes to get a refund they finally responded and said there was no manager there during a weekday. They did give money back but they were so rude and unhelpful in the process.
