This Park made me stop and think about how many great parks there are in the Kansas City area. They can be easily overlooked, but Roe is an awesome place to get outdoors.

My daughter loves this park. The equipment is modern but unique and gives kids a challenge. The bathroom facilities are top notch. I would say they need more benches and shade. Love that the water fountain is freeze proof.

Very nice park that is fairly new. It has a splash park that the kids love, and there is no charge to use it. There are three shelter houses available. The park appears to be very busy on summer weekends, so be sure to reserve a shelter house early if you need one.

Love Roe Park to walk at lunch - the park is always filled with families and totally safe. The splash pad is extra cool.

I have been hearing about this park for a while from other moms and their children. After finally visiting with my 4 children (ages 4-10 years old), we were blown away by the pleasure of spending time in this park. The original playground is still available close to a large picnic shelter and playground. On the other side of the parking lot is a brand new playground, "nature play" area, and splash park close to clean and modern multi-stall restrooms.
The newly built playground includes: extra-tall slide, multiple climbing nets, towers, and ropes, as well as swings, and merry go-round. While the playground itself doesn't incorporate shade, there are several large trees nearby, so that play remains pleasant throughout most of the day.
The "nature play" area, seemed slightly pretentious as it is literally fenced off from the woods which are right next to it. However, my children loved playing in the rocks and small water feature as well as climbing along the logs.
We didn't wear swimsuits for the spray park, but I was pleasantly surprised to note that my children who ventured in, were lightly misted with water to cool off rather than becoming dripping wet as can happen in other similar parks we have been to.
Overall, this large playground and spraypark are able to accommodate a large number of children without becoming crowded or unpleasant. My children were more than happy to spend several hours playing and immediately asked when they can come back again.response / report this review -

It has a cool play area with some play structures I haven't see at other parks. It also has a decent splash park with a rest room that are all connected together so kids can go back and forth from wet play to dry play easily. The one downside I found was there is no baby changing table in the men's room making it difficult to put diapers or dry clothes on your toddler.

Awesome park. Splash pad for those hot days, a natural playground, a big kids playground, a small kids playground, and all fairly contained so that the littles can't suddenly run into the parking lot without you. One of the very few places I feel comfortable taking my curious and rambunctious 3 yr old and the baby without having an extra adult to make sure the 3 year old doesn't suddenly run out into the street (because she probably would if she could). Do bring towels if it is summer though because your kids will be thoroughly soaked on the splash pad.

One of the best public parks in Johnson County, since it has brand-new large playground and still has an older large playground. It has large soccer field and baseball fields, and covered picnic areas and bathrooms. Also tennis courts.

I am a fitness fanatic, and I have spent many summer afternoons at Roe park. I have started many runs here frequently, and I chose the location because of the excellent restroom facilities as well as the ample parking.
This is an excellent starting place to meet up with friends for a long run, or hang out with friends and take your children to play. For those who enjoy walking it has a half mile walking track around the park.
For those who enjoy running, if you go west there are restroom facilities 2 miles or so out, as well as water stops at a half mile, 2.25 miles, and at 4.5 miles out, which is excellent for training on long runs.
I highly recommend this to spend time at the park itself, or using it as a starting point for a larger adventure.response / report this review
