A great memorial in the home of Veteran's day!
Really cool park with great history!
In the past 5-6 years we have stopped here twice. It is a little out of the way for our normal route. It is worth it. The time gap was just right to allow my youngest two kids to have the same great experience that the older ones had. Actually, the younger ones seemed to take more away from the visit. They seemed to relate to the sacrifice that had been made and was represented, and what it meant to the life they lived one of freedom and relative peace. Still, they also enjoyed being able to climb up on a real tank. The park is well maintained, and on a 24-30 hour trip, it is a great place to pause and refresh/reflect.
My wife's family has conections to Emporia and, while visiting, we came upon this memorial. Very nice site.
I love coming down here Grove River and the zoo and taking pictures the lovely place to visit !
Lovely little park
This is a nice little park with some small memorials and some military equipment (at the moment, an anchor, a helicopter and tank). The city is building a walking path to connect it to Peter Pan Park. It's right across from the zoo, the mini-train area and right next to the old bridge, which makes it a nice place to see when you're seeing all the other things in the area.
Clean memorial park with walking trails, helicopter and tank on display, and great fishing off the bridge
Gorgeous place to hang out, fish.
The "ALL VETERANS MEMORIAL" belongs on Google maps for the world to see so
I was very surprised that this was not on
G-maps!? It's a beautiful little Memorial/park with lots of big shade trees right next to the cottonwood river also cross the street is the David Taylor/Emporia Zoo and Soden Park. All Emporian's are proud of their town and even more of "ALL VETERANS" who have given so much so that we all can live a life of freedom. A BIG THANK YOU from US to each and every veteran.
