Years ago, I had a cocker spaniel that was hit by a car & my local vet suggested we put him to sleep because he had "lived a good life." We took him here & they operated on him & he lived about 5 more years. He always hated going to the local vet but LOVED to visit Roanoke Animal Hospital! He would wander around the front desk & they'd give him treats! I have a foster dog now who has had problems with his foot. They have been so helpful in getting him on the road to recovery! These people really care about your pets!

The vet was very rude to me just because I won't use the flea and tick products that they sell. Not everyone can afford these products. It doesn't mean we don't love our pets any less. It makes you wonder how they treat your pets when you're not around? And then I found out that they knew my dog has had food allergies since he was a pup. They've kept this from me for over 6 years. They didn't say anything because 'they didn't see any issues'. So they just kept quiet and let me keep feeding my dog the same dog food. IMO this hospital needs to be investigated.

Great experience! We were overnighting in Roanoke Rapids a day after our Yorkie was groomed. We noticed her left eye was running and she was blinking non-stop, we knew the groomer had gotten soap in her eye and caused an ulceration. Still during a blizzard they took us in asap and treated her eye in the exact manner our Vet in NY has in the past. Fast service, great staff, great Doctor, and in my opinion on par cost wise with my last emergency situation in CT. They accepted our Care Credit, provided all the medicine we needed including clear written instruction. It's located roughly 4 or 5 miles from Carolina Crossroads RV park where we were staying while on our way to Florida.

“Roanoke Animal Hospital is the best, most sympathetic veterinary clinic I have ever visited! I think very highly of this clinic and will always bring my pets here. I do not feel like just a paying customer when I visit, I feel like my dog or cat is just as special to you all as they are to me! After my first visit with my mastiff I was so impressed I even wrote a thank you note to the clinic! Continue with what you all do and know that I personally am very appreciative of you all!”
