Didn't feel safe. Extremely small private rooms with no private bathroom.

The rooms were very very hot as was the entire hostel. If you don't tolerate heat well, I would not go when its super hot out. Protect your stuff or it will get taken. My dress was taken by someone. The owner was disgruntled most of the time. The other staff were nice and the waffles were good. They really need to get air conditioning. the swamp cooler does not work very well

The hostel in itself is really awesome, the private room we stayed in was good enough with not too much light but unfortunately we had a really bad experience with one of the staff members.

A couple of hours after my review went live, the owner came to speak to me personally and asked what was up, which I really appreciated, and I explained him everything about that specific person.
I'm glad that he will work on it and I'll make sure to recommend this hostel to anybody coming to Tucson if he proceeds with what he said.

Good- Cheapest night in a bed around, convenient location, AYCE waffles/coffee, nice patio and socializing with "interesting" clientele
Needs improvement- Poor organization/communication by "staff". I think some brains have been fried by the sun (or something else). Heating and a/c are lacking.
    Overall, I'd go back

This was a nice place. Clean with a friendly staff, I was definitely comfortable there and everyone was more than willing to help me. My room was super-dark (great for sleeping) and if you run the fan, between the white noise and the peaceful dark, I was very well-rested there indeed. The owner, Jimmy, was cordial and generous.

Based on the website we thought this would be a great place to stay. We arrived, paid, were shown our room, and asked for a refund within 20 minutes. Once refused a refund (after not being able to get ahold of the manager drunk at a local bar at 3:00 in the afternoon) we were moved to a equally as stiflingly hot room without working air that didn't smell like ashtray. The rooms are more boxes than actual rooms and do not have the cute bedside table or the cozy feel that is bragged about on the website. There were also shady individuals who appeared to live at the hostel, one of which put his hand on my lower back while walking by shirtless. The rooms are located across the street and down a shady alleyway, the private rooms at least. We finally got a refund at 9:00pm and had to rush to find another hotel last minute. There was no apology and plenty of attitude as we attempted to leave without friction. I believe this place pays for their reviews, visitors beware!
