Great friendly staff! The building is a but older and shows some wear. Very clean otherwise.
Love the newer look. Clean rooms great staff. Enjoy my stays here more and more. Also added breakfast to make it even better!
This is my go-to hotel every time I visit Charleston West Virginia. Very nice, clean and convenient. Stayed there in November and December of 2016, then again in April, May, September and coming up again at the end of December all in 2017, then first night in January of 2018. Absolutely love it there.
The location of this hotel is perfect for getting anywhere downtown quickly. The interior could use an update, but was clean and free of odors. There was no complimentary breakfast, only coffee (big disappointment). They allow pets, which is nice. They are currently undergoing a transition, so that's why some things were just not right. The staff was the best part of my stay here. The friendliest and helpful bunch I've ever met!
The quality of stay wasn't worth the price. No clear sign of the hotel was available at night time. The parking lot and lobby is sketchy. The room was a small improvement but one bed didn't even have a comforter. Only a sheet was on the bed. Room service nor the front desk brought us one. The toilet we thought was gonna break. Will not be returning.
Me and my husband stayed here for the Alan Jackson concert we smelled weed in the elevator the tv only picked up local channels, no shampoo in the bathroom toilet didn't flush right and teenagers running in the hallway half the night and we had to go to another floor to get ice ! Would never stay here again , we didn't even feel safe .But I will say the staff was friendly !
Where to be a cheap motel is actually quite nice better than some of the hundred dollar hotels in town the staff goes above and beyond for everyone and it's actually clean
Good hotel, very close to Historic Downtown, nice and clean, the staff is helpful and attentive. Pool is working. No microwave in the room, but there's one in the lobby that you can use.
Don't be deceived, this is a Motel 6, and a bad one at that. No breakfast, awful WiFi, our fridge didn't work, couldn't access the pool, and pretty dirty.
Large room. They are doing renovations. No microwave or coffee in rooms. Remote does not change tv channels properly
Hotel was acceptable. Close to Pizza and Pints restaurant. Quiet. The stairs on one side are fire escape only and we had to backtrack to the second floor.
A fresh coat of paint on an old run down place. Stains on the walls, difficult to flush the toilet, broken curtain rod. The free breakfast is middling at best, with terrible coffee. The bed was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. Spent $80 for a night here, would hate to see the more inexpensive places.
Not very often am I compelled to write a review.. However the poor attitude, and general rudeness I experienced at this facility has motivated me to do so. While attempting to check in at about 7:45a.m. ,after working a midnight shift,I discussed arrangements that I had made the day prior by telephone(I had arranged a rate for 5 nights with early check in). At this point front desk staff stated " We can't give those rates, and I don't even know if we have any room available for check in" At this point I explained that I had called again at 4a.m. to verify that there were vacant rooms and that previous arrangements were still set. The manager was then contacted and she came out and very rudely stated that they would not honor the rates previously arranged and that staff that I previously spoke to were not authorized to approve the rate. When I prompted a conversation about a resolution she quoted me a rate nearly 33% higher than previously arranged. Needless to say I did not take her offer. I've stayed at this hotel several times with positive experiences, however I am quite disappointed with Best Western for this poor performance and rude interactions with customers.
A poorly trained new employee had inadvertently deleted all reservations for the night -- slightly complicating the check-in process. Since the elevator was being rebuilt, they were trying to put everyone on the second floor. The first room that I was given was already occupied. I required help to turn on the lights in the second room -- the bed lamp (which is supposed to go on when one throw the switch at the door) had been unplugged and I apparently didn't try hard enough to turn the second lamp on. The clock was set for some time in the middle of the night. (I presume because it may have been unplugged along with the lamp.) Aside from the (adequate) free breakfast, there is no food available, even from a vending machine. And hard-to-vacuum areas appeared not to have been vacuumed in several months.
Do not stay here. Very sketchy area, hardly any parking and dimly lit lot. Traveling with a dog and my teenage son so I booked 2 double beds. Upon checking in, they let me know I was moved to 1 king bed since nothing else was available on the pet floor. Breakfast is awful. Huge drink fridge on the 1st floor but only had 2 rows filled. Beds are horrible. This place is disgusting. We were afraid to leave our room at night. Avoid at all costs.
