My first experience with Riverwood was 8 years ago when my husband's parents moved there and I was very impressed with the facility, staff, and caring environment. My father has now been there for almost 8 months and I am even more impressed. I can not thank the staff enough for all their care, nurture, and dedication to all the residents. They have been very supportive of me as well and it is my joy and blessing to visit regularly. I am always greeted pleasantly, they listen to my concerns for my father, and I enjoy getting to know the other residents and staff. During the snow days this winter there were many staff members who stayed there overnight and some for several days in a row to make sure everyone was safe and cared for as usual. They are the best!
The wing of the Riverwood Retirement called "Remembrance Village" has been a God sent for my sister. She is being cared for with love, professionalism and a lot of attentiveness to her well being. The caregivers and administrators seem to have a special calling when it comes to taking care of residents' individual needs. I have also noticed that the caregivers respond to each resident with dignity and respect, even though some of the residents cannot express what's occurring in their mind or body. I am especially grateful to Riverwood's Rememberance Village for welcoming the family to visit at anytime during the day.
