I started a membership at Omni around August 2013. Back then I signed up for $20/month and this rate continued for the next two years. Once they decided to merge with Bodyplex in 2015, I believe, this business has gone right down the drain. My monthly rate more than doubled to $49/month and I was given little reason why by the VERY unpleasant lady who I spoke to at the time. More recently my rate increased again to $59/month, which by the way I was given ZERO notification by the gym itself. I went in a few days ago to cancel my membership and asked to have the $59 credited back to my card since to me it's a failure of notification on their part. The guy/manager/trainer rudely told my "no" and said I missed the 30 day notification. Yeah, whatever guy. You're not seeing that money anyway since I disputed the charge.

The PROS (and the only reasons I'm not giving one star): Lots of equipment, little to no wait time to use said equipment, and a few good people. I always thought the ladies swiping key fobs up front were genuinely kind.

The CONS: The vast majority of people here are some of the most disrespecting jackasses. Every gym faux pas you can think of happens here, frequently and all the time. I've seen people get up leaving the bench drenched in sweat without sanitizing it for the person after them. The "trainers" who fumble with their smartphones while their client is doing an exercise with horrendous form. If you want a bunch of "bros" and general f##ing morons around you, this is the place. Forget that fake news $19.99/month rate you see on the new website. These con artists will probably try to milk you for double that at least.

In conclusion, there are many more options out there available. At the very least you can find a place that treats you with respect and doesn't try to steal your hard earned money. It's no wonder that they've rebranded this place as Athens Health & Fitness since Omni received so many negative reviews. Maybe someday this place will be worthy again, but for now it's run by people who can't even manage a lemonade stand.

Clearly, from the many terrible reviews, this is not a business you want to support if you care about things like integrity, honesty or justice. When I stopped by the Omni Club just to check it out, I was pressured into a tour. This turned into a sit down with the owner who was very intimidating and persistent. He finally pressured me into buying a very expensive membership with the promise that I could cancel at any time. I basically agreed because I was too intimidated to walk away. I was very shaken after the meeting but comforted because I knew I would only lose $80 since I could cancel after 1 month. Well when I went to the front desk to end my membership they directed me to an email address. I received a very impersonal reply that basically said I couldn't end my membership. So I was stuck with an outrageously expensive membership for a whole year because the owner lied to me just so he could make more money. Please do not support this business!!

I have been a member for almost five years and absolutely love it. The staff is always very friendly as well as accommodating. Omni is hands down the best gym in Athens, you will not be disappointed if you are thinking about joining.

Worst gym ever! Not only did they close their east side location with short notice, the management is terrible with rude attitudes and unhelpful. Now they are trying to change their name, I suppose because OMNI has a terrible reputation. Save your money and go ANYWHERE ELSE! Also, the BBB (Better Business Bureau has this business with a F rating on their website!!

Stopped by to get pricing and look around at the facility. New to Ga and new to Athens so I intend on joining a gym or studio but am still in research mode. Was very disappointed with the hard sell technique where you are offered "deals" to sign up the first time you ever see the place. I was expecting a day pass to try out the facility. Since the price will jump considerably if I go back to sign up and I still would never have the opportunity to try out the gym, I don't know that I can consider this as an option even if it is the "best in Athens" per the salesman. Really bad first impression.

I've been a member since it opened and I have seen this place slowly decline. Equipment needs to be updated and fixed. When you walk in and see all the treadmills in the back and they are all open you think great no hassle but wait it is because you have to find one that actually works. When you do find one it will always break down in the middle of your run. Was a loyal member but I'm starting to look around now.

I would have to see the Omni and its staff have been a great support system to me with my journey to good health and lifestyle change. Talk about a personal trainer, I feel like I have one walking with me daily, not just when we meet. All staff members are always giving encouraging, and freely giving motivating words and that extra push to be consistent, yet challenging me to go the extra mile.

I've been a member of the Omni Club for over three years and it's been the best decision that I've made! The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I never have to wait for a machine or equipment. Whenever a machine malfunctions or breaks the maintenance crew is always quick to fix the machine. The training staff goes the extra mile to help everyone get into the best shape possible. The club is always kept very clean. I've been a member of numerous gyms and this gym is by far the best! Once you're apart of this gym you're apart of a family.

Its a great gym, clean facility , and recently have stepped up their game, brought in new state of the art equipment, class schedules are great, lots of free options, but also reasonably priced for more advanced options. The training staff are all very professional and knowledgeable, my personal coach Kenneth "Hulk" Terrell has helped me great deal, am in the best shape of my life, works with my abnormal work schedule, very cool guy. No gym is perfect but its a good place. Would recommend it if you're in the Athens area and are looking for a gym.
