How do I begin. I would give it no stars if I could. So my girlfriend and I are hiking the appalachian trail and we are by no means picky people (keep this in mind as you read my review we've hiked over a 1000 miles to this point). We got in on 10/9 after being there for about three hours the manager knocks on our door and tells us we have to leave for awhile because they have to replace the window in our room. I said you didn't think to tell us that before you put us in the room? Please go get the owner I would like to speak with her. She comes over and tell us to go across the street to the restaurant for awhile or something. I said no we paid for a room we do nothing but walk every day we are beat and we paid $70 dollars per night to stay here. (Intended on staying 2 nights $140 in total) I figured at that point maybe we would get some sort of compensation for it at least money back for one of the two nights or maybe free dinner? I was obvious that they were replacing the windows in the rooms next to us because they were hammering and using a table saw. So she knew quite well they would be replacing the windows in our room and she put us in there anyways. She said she wouldn't do that and I said well we would like our money back. She quickly stated we could just move to this other room. Reluctantly we moved our stuff to the other oom. In hindsight which wasn't that big of a deal. We have everything we've needed for 6 months in 60 liter backpacks. Room 47 Here's where the fun begins. Room is smaller, the air conditioning doesn't work, and this morning we woke up and the plastic wrap that was covering the bed had peeled up and bed bugs were just flowing out of it. We both agreed that's this was too much to handle. We pack up our stuff and I start noticing other things. The smoke detector doesn't have batteries in it, the outlets on the wall had been taped to the wall in other rooms because doors were wide open. Also noticed in three different rooms (doors wide open) the beds were all wrapped in plastic to keep the bed bugs at bay. There's space heaters in the bathrooms right next to the tubs.. it says right on top of them that they should be kept far away from water and moisture. Seriously I'm suprised this place hasn't burnt down yet. So we pack up and went to the front office. Of course no one is there so we call the number on the door and the managers daughter answers and says nobody is here don't know when they will be back. Manager finally gets back and tells us we won't get our money back she doesn't do refunds (owner). We never got a receipt either. Basically we are out the money, but hopefully a health inspector will see this review. The shelters on the Appalachian Trail are nicer than this place. Don't waste your money or your time with these people. The woman who owns the place is probably one of the most disrespectful , stuck up, down right rudest individuals I have ever met in my life. We waited up front for awhile, told the manager that we wanted to talk to the owner, and it was obvious the owner was never going to show. If you read this keep in mind we have been virtually homeless for over 3 months. We don't complain, we sleep in a tent or a 3 wall shelter almost every night. We don't expect much, but to pay that amount of money I don't expect what we had to deal with. We finally left and don't expect to ever get our money back. When it comes down to it those people and place weren't worth any more of our time or money. Somebody will eventually figure out what kind of place they are running and I don't expect them to be in business after they do. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. With that all being said the manager gave us free laundry out of her own pocket to make up for the owners behavior. She was nice. I feel bad she has to work for individuals like the people running this place.

Small room. Overpriced for what they are offering. It's not horrible but I wouldn't recommend it if you can find another place. We got it just because of the price, but it's overpriced for what it is.

I was pleasantly surprised at just how cozy and efficient our room was given the inexpensive cost. Fridge, microwave, TV and Wi-Fi which we used to stream music through an Amazon Echo. It played without pause. Overall great service, awesome price, clean and cute rooms.

Inexpensive motel. Bed was clean and comfortable. Room was small and dark. Room had a refrigerator and microwave but you had to unplug the TV to use the microwave. Can use some maintenance. Good for hikers.

I am not picky when it comes to lodging. This place was pretty disgusting. Was put into a smoking room initially without the question option of smoking or non smoking. Smelled disgusting, had many flies in the room, bathtub was black and nothing looked clean. Asked to be put into a non smoking room and it was slightly better. Was infested with bugs but was slightly cleaner. The lamp had no bulb in it and was snapped in half on top of that, the fire alarm had no battery and the battery slot was hanging open clearly displaying that. Wallpaper was pealing off and every surface was marked up. Decided it would be better off camping. Im giving an extra star because the woman working the front desk changed my room and refunded me without hassle.

The hotel is much nicer than it appears on the outside. While thru-hiking on the Appalachian Trail, my fiance broke his foot and we had to find a nearby hotel to stay in until we could arrange for someone to pick us up. The staff at Rite Spot were very kind and accommodating, they picked us up from the trail, gave us extra pillows for his foot, and let us hang around after check-out time until our ride arrived. The rooms are equal or better to what you would find in most motel rooms and are equipped with a fridge, microwave, tv and coffee machine. It was a pleasant stay for the price.
