Hotel is still in the process of being renovated when I was there but the work I saw completed so far looked great.

It was decent. In town on business for the week. Rooms are clean and spacious. Front desk staff was ver helpful. Close to everything. Housekeeping needs some work though. They pick and choose what trash they will remove from the room.

I'm only giving a rating of 3 but I could go 3-1/2. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Not going to trash the place because it had it's charms and amenities. I'll just say an upgrade is in order for some things.

Location of the hotel is fine. Lots nearby, including a 99s if you're too tired to drive after you arrive. Pet friendly though pet area where you're supposed to walk your dog is smaller than our dog needs. We had to walk laps around the building.

Mattress on the sofa bed is horrible. My daughter gave up and slept without it pulled out. Lots of stomping and fan noise from other rooms too. Room over the courtyard so lots of noise last night with a gathering going on.

Stayed at a competitor's hotel last year. Paid the same rate and this hotel was not even close. Mildew on shower seams and caulking, puttied cracks in doors and walls. Fuzzy TV channels at times too. Needs some renovations to be worth the price.

We stayed for a weekend break from work and etc. The hotel was okay. Clean rooms, fairly spacious. The pool was a little gross - chunks of algae floating in the water. Other than than service and stay was pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a chain hotel.

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at the Residence Inn in North Dartmouth, MA and reserved a handicap accessible room. My wife does not use a wheelchair, but can walk only with difficulty using leg braces. The “handicap room” was sorely lacking, specifically:
    • The only handicap assistance was 2 horizontal bars on the inside wall of the bathtub. There was no vertical bar on entry which my wife needs for support to get into the tub.
    • The tub itself was full height, so climbing over it was a problem. Other hotels typically have a lower height tub or (even better) a walk-in shower.
    • There was no pull down chair to sit on for showering.
    • The handicap room was located far down 2 corridors at the furthest location from the lobby, nowhere near the elevator.

My wife was not able to take a shower for the three days we were there. Basically, there was a total lack of concern for a handicapped individual. This is especially inexcusable for a premium priced hotel.
The room was also in the worst shape I have seen in any Marriott property – and I have over 500 Marriott stays. The carpeting had numerous stains, as did the bedding. The furniture had stains, holes, and tears. Any Marriott where I have stayed has always replaced carpeting and furnishings before they reach this level of disrepair.

The staff was quite unfriendly and unhelpful, never even inquiring about our stay.

After the three days we moved to the nearby Fairfield Inn in New Bedford, another Marriott branded property. The stay there was exemplary, with a handicap friendly room that was appropriate. The room itself was very clean, along with a staff that was most pleasant.

It is clear that the problem is with the management of The Residence Inn in North Dartmouth (this is a franchise), not with Marriott Corporation.

Be sure that you stay away from this property. There are better choices in the area.

Very, very nice rooms. We got a studio with a kitchen. Staff is fantastic. Great full breakfast. Came from new jersey and will stay again. Furniture is a little dated, but very clean.

Great experience, clean rooms. We had noisy upstairs neighbors and were moved to a different room upon request immediately. Hot breakfast was a win too!

This Hotel Rates with the Best 5 stars Ive stayed at as far as customer service, of course the ammenities are more family and traveler oriented, but for its class of Suites only/extended stay it is top notch. The rugs and furniture are a little outdated yet well cared for. I was told this was all being updated at the end of this year. If you are staying in this area I know all of the local hotels and motels, you will absolutely get the biggest bang for your buck here! Full breakfast every day and 3 nights of light supper or snacks. All included, even allow pets. Worth every penny! The manager even helped us with our rate some due to our being flooded out of our condo. What more can I say.
