Favorite ramen place in the area! Not a giant menu to look over, but everything on it is good!

Some of the best ramen I've had since being in Japan. Usually a line on Sundays, cash only, tight dining room and completely worth it.

The customer service I received last night was horrific and disrespectful. The waitress told us to eat in our car while other paying customers could eat inside and there were 5 open tables because we wanted to change our order from take out to dine in.
My husband and I are service members and commuters and we wanted some ramen since soup sounded great for cold weather. when we arrived all 4 parking spots for the restaurant were taken so we ordered take out. While hung out in the parking lot in our car we saw a spot open up and we thought, "Hey, now we can eat here." Since we had to be at an event in an hour and a half and our commute would be an hour we wouldn't have had time to take it home. When we went inside to pay we told the waitress we decided to dine in and she said we couldn't becaise our food was already packed so we said okay. then she asked us to sit at a table and wait because it wasn't ready, which was really confusing. Then she called us over to check out and said it was cash only. So we had to drive to the gas station which has the closest ATM. When we came back I asked her for hot sauce and she said it was only for dine in and I asked if she had packets and she said no because Japanese food isn't supposed to be spicy.
We didn't feel welcomed. I wish I hadn't done business with her and we paid just like everyone else so why wasn't I allowed to sit at an open table in the warm restaurant I just bought food from to eat the food I just bought?
she said it's never happened before. usually when people ask for take out they take it home.
I told her we didn't live nearby and changed our minds and she said that's just the way it was.
I asked her if it's written somewhere and she said no. this person just decided on her own to make that a policy. when I asked to speak to her manager she said they don't have one. she said I could just write a review online.
I really hope that the boss addresses customer service like this. the business shouldn't suffer for one waitress's disrespectful service.response / report this review -

This is a little gem in Wheaton. The place is quiet and understated so very relaxed. The servers are great and friendly. They take your order quickly and the food comes out fast! The ramen is delicious. You can expect very large portions and flavourful food.

Went on a date here - nice tiny place, no background music, great for chatting with friends / family. Also, the food was stellar and the portion was huge!
Would recommend, would go back.
Also, it is cash only, it's on the building / menu / walls & there is an ATM nearby. Dropping this awesome place to one star because of inattentiveness isn't fair, guys.response / report this review -

Best ramen in the region, since I discovered them, I don't go anywhere else when I crave some good traditional Ramen, the broth is full of flavor and the meats melt in your mouth, Tonshio is my favorite type of Ramen and I always ask for extra Pork, this is a place that I recommend to anyone who wants a truly Ramen experience.

We enjoyed our meal, would definitely go back again. Server was very nice and helpful in giving advice on our order as we were ramen novices. Particularly loved the egg topping. Big portions also made for some nice leftovers!

Best Ramen in DC metro. Don't wait at Toki forever, just come here and bring cash. Idiots who complain about service don't understand great food. Tables are for two or four. Have a bigger group? Split up geniuses! Don't ask for more space than you have people ready to sit down.

Ordered the Vegetable Miso ramen. The broth was rich, it had cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, scallions and seaweed. Added seasoned egg. The noodles were nice and chewy. Prices are better than DC. Accepts only cash however.

Hole in the wall with expected downfalls:

Given these, this place has delicious Ramen for 10-15 dollars depending on toppings, etc. They fly in their noodles and the broth is delicious. It's a small restaurant but it's not super busy. There are only a couple of parking spots so hopefully you'll get one!response / report this review -

We've never had ramen and I'm generally skeptical of small restaurants. But the staff were very nice, explained the options, and made some good recommendations. The food was excellent and very filling.

Never been disappointed. Ramen is always top notch. Service is quick and easy and hands off, which I like. Others complaining about service just aren't used to the hands off, "take your order once and done" style. Always a treat to come here.
