Lot of trashy people here. Obvious drug dealing at the back part of the motel. Even though I put up the do not disturb sign, housekeeping knocked on the door anyway, and I said I'd be out at checkout time. An hour later someone calls the motel phone and hangs up when I answered, I'm sure it was housekeeping. I really don't need to be interrupted or rushed when I'm getting ready.
I reserved 2 different rooms because there were no double beds available the first night. On the the second day, I checked out of my first room at 11 am, and asked when my second room would be available. The receptionist told me 2 pm. I came back at 3 pm, almost 4 pm, to check in to my second room, and none of the rooms have been cleaned. There were 3 people in front of me and one of them had to switch rooms because their room was not clean. This delayed my check in because the receptionist had to leave the office to go physically inspect which rooms were clean and which were not. I was upset at this point but remained neutral. It was not the receptionist's fault but I wish she knew what was going on. When I finally checked in, the receptionist told me that my room should be clean because she was "told" that it was. When I went up to the room, the housekeeper was still in the middle of cleaning it. As I patiently waited outside the room, the housekeeper rushed through the cleaning and quickly over sprayed it with air freshener as she walked out. I asked for extra clean towels since they only equipped it with two bath towels, and the housekeeper said that they did not have any more clean towels and to check back with the front in a couple of hours. I could still smell a strong odor in the room and am not sure if anything have been cleaned or if the linens were even refreshed. I will probably not stay here again.
We've stayed at the Red Roof Inn-Hickory just about every year we come here and have always had a great experience. This was another great stay but I must say that we've never had such a problem with our room keys. Some would never work and others would work one or two times and then we had to go back to the office and get them fixed. It kept happening over and over for three days. Other than that and the problem getting to the hotel because of the Starbucks customers blocking the driveway entrance to the hotel, we had a great stay.
Stayed here 10/23-10/25/2017. The sheets had cigarettes burns in our non-smoking kind deluxe room. The room smelled very musty and they didn’t provide shampoo and conditioner, just a “conditioning shampoo”. While all of this was disturbing/disgusting, this wasn’t the worst. Upon leaving, i shook the sheets out to make sure we were forgetting anything, and found a small bug, after taking a picture and sending to my family who owns hotels, and googling, it was confirmed it was a bed bug. i confronted the front desk and she acted ignorant like there was no way I found that because room 114 has never had bed bugs before. I️ guess the woman was clueless that they travel from room to room quite easily. She said she would have to call pest control to confirm that It was a bed bug after googling and finding the exact same. Bug all over the internet. So I called Red Roof Inn Corporate Number.
I wasn’t very impressed with red roof. There were guys talking outside our room from duke energy, playing music and being loud and it took 2 calls to the office to have them quiet down. The bed wasn’t comfortable and the sheets and towels were very scratchy. Not to mention we had ants in our bed. Non-smoking, but we had cigarette burns in our blanket.
Great place to purchase Crystal Meth or hide if you are an accessory to murder. Both incidents happened within 24 hours of checking in. (Being offered drugs for sale, and two men being arrested for murder in a take down in the middle of the night.)
The owners bait and switch their rooms, with online travel services. All ground floor units advertised are priced higher upon checking in. There are no elevators, and although compliant with the letter of the law they are not truly ADA friendly. This place is to be advoided at all costs. Not to mention shoe boxes have larger bathrooms.
The single king room was small, but it was suoposed to be so no worries there! Very clean room, everything worked, parking lot well lit, food within walking distance, desk clerk very friendly. Tell them you saw the billboard on the interstate for a nice discount!!
Nice, clean, and friendly hotel. The staff are wonderful and always willing to help. My husband works in this area and we purchase our room with the weekly rate of $446.25.
There's a mini fridge, microwave, and a in room safe that costs a lil extra.
I love how this hotel is "pet friendly". Even though my dog is a service animal and is permitted in any location, it's very nice that all dogs are welcome. My only complaint is about other dog owners not cleaning up after their pets. It's ridiculous that you as a pet owner won't take the time to clean up after your dog uses the bathroom.
CONDEMN this place. I travel the continental US for work and live in hotels. This is the WORST, most UNSANITARY hotel I've stepped foot in. Cockroaches, pubic hairs on bed and pillows. Linens dirty, cigarette holes in comforter in non-smoking room that smelled like smokethe list goes on. Joe Dirt and his extended family live here. Men with no shirts and mullets sitting on their tailgates smoking, ladies in bathrobes smoking standing in the doorway to non-smoking rooms. Very loud, people fighting at night.feet from the I40 not conducive for sleeping. Had I not been exhausted from a trek from Cali I would have left. I should have. Got like 3 hours of very I interrupted sleep.
Warning to all truckers. Do not come to this hotel. Web site says truck parking. I assure you it is not adequate enough for a truck and staff has no problem knocking on your door disturbing you after you have worked a 14 hour day to tell you to move your truck. Asked if my room could be changed so I could be close to my truck for security reasons. Was ignored. If it wasn't for all the drinks hanging around outside I wouldn't worry about it. Will not be staying here again. Will not recommend it. For that matter I will be staying away from all the Red Roof Inns. Y'all have lost my business. It's a shame to considering I stay in hotels approximately 330 days a year. Another reason I would've liked to change rooms is the bathroom light doesn't work. Am I suppose to shower in the dark. Stay away from here. Trashy people. I was just approached by a night club manager giving away free passes to a strip joint. That should tell you what the locals even think of this place to patrol the parking lot and do that. So if you don't want your kids and family in that kind of environment I suggest you stay away from here to. The locals are what will drag this place down.
This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. I expected way less for my buck, but got the opposite. Our room was recently renovated, I think, which might be why. Laminate wood flooring. Fresh paint job. Updated furniture. My son wanted to take the mattresses home with us! I agree. Those beds were super comfy. We had zero noise issues.
No fridge or coffeemaker, but I forgot to ask ahead. Ice machine conveniently located near our room. Bathroom was very clean. The computer desk area was very appreciated. And the room did not feel over crowded with the furniture.
Key cards kept resetting though. Kind of a hassle. All over good visit.
Room was clean and beds were comfortable. We had a mini fridge and microwave in our room alsobest of all our dogs stay free. They go everytime we travel and it is nice not to pay extra for them to stay. Did not meet any of the staff but they came in and cleaned the room while we were gone. We have no complaints about the hotel..just some of the noisy guests that kept banging on the outside walls and talking loudly and shouting near our roompeople need to be more considerate when staying at public places.
Perfect service, clean rooms nice front office. Very polite while i checked in with two kids under 7. Rooms are up to date! ♡ thanks for an awesome stay
I have stayed at this location four times in the last few months as I regularly pass through the area. Every time the room has been clean, the amenities have been wonderful, and the front desk staff is very friendly. The big issue that I do have is the last three times, including this stay, housekeeping has tried to come in my room between 9-10 am. They knock on the door but even if I reply they try to open it. This is a huge issue as I often come in very late, and sleep late in the morning. It is important to note that my stays are always one night and check out is 11, so there is no logical reason I can think of for housekeeping to try to come in the room at that time. This has become a reoccurring issue, and definitely affects my interest in staying there in the future.
