Hotel was okay. Outdated in hallways and on the outside. The free breakfast was just bread and waffles. The staff was super friendly! Easy check-in, rooms were clean. Not to mention to wood floor was nice in the room. VERY DOG FRIENDLY! No yucky carpet.

Was at hotel for about 2 weeks. While going to crst school. Had to tell front desk that bed needed clean sheets. Bed was being made daily without clean sheets. I spilled medicine on sheets and had to show reception medicine to prove sheets wasn’t changed. Also had mail sent to hotel. Mail never came. Room was nice. Staff just need retraining.

Very nice desk Clerk, room had dead and live silverfish on floor around heater. Bathroom had cobwebs in corners, hair in tub and no wash cloths.
At 3:15AM to 3:30AM the room phone kept ringing, when I finally answered nobody there.
No breakfast to speak of at 6:15AM, bowl of fruit on counter, waffle iron but no mix. Coffee was Horrible!!
I WON'T STAY HERE AGAIN!!

OK you get what you pay for. Cheap rates. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Those are the positive. Hallways are a little creepy. Cleaning crew were interesting to say the least. As far as "continental breakfast" I've never seen a more poor excuse. Waffles and bread and a toaster. Maybe I just hit it on a bad day, but this could be improved. But for the price I didn't complain. Like I said clean room and comfortable bed.

Worst hotel experience in my life. I reserved the hotel around 9pm as I was in stopping in town for the night. When I arrived at the hotel, I was met by an extremely rude and dismissive staff, and terrible hotel conditions. I left and took my business elsewhere, calling later that night to cancel my reservation. Later I find that the charge for the room is still on my credit card statement so I call the hotel to clear it up, where I was met on the phone by the same disgusting manager from my visit. She dismissed everything I said basically calling me a liar, and said she will not be refunding my price because HER STAFF doesn't have record of me cancelling. Not my fault. Will be putting reviews anywhere and everywhere I can, and writing a letter to the editor in the Cedar Rapids News paper.

This place it's an overrated fleabag and a poor excuse for somewhere to stay for even one night! To say that the facility is in disrepair would be a gross understatement. After checking in the first thing I noticed was that my HBO guide was from last month! When I called the desk to ask for a current HBO guide they said sure if you want to come down and get it yourself, I didn't get one. The "Continental Breakfast" was an appetising to say the least. Waffle batter in an open container that had been there for a couple of hours, some stale English muffins, half orange juice and half water in a dispenser that did not function correctly, but I must add that they did provide a fresh basket of apples and some fairly decent peanut butter to eat.The remote control was only half functional. I delt with it for one night, when I returned for my second night I stopped at the desk and asked if I could get a replacement remote. They said sure if you want to go up to your room and bring me the other one I will give you a replacement. So I did, that remote did not work at all!
If I were a human being, I would not ever book a room at this hotel ever! After my stay here I can promise you that I will NEVER stay at a Red Roof Inn again!

The staff is friendly. The beds are comfortable. The wifi is good enough to stream live video without interruption. The rooms are always very clean. The price is right. The manager and her staff take your comfort and rest extremely seriously. I'm not sure what else you can expect from a hotel. Stay there.

I was visiting family who were staying in the hotel while here on vacation. We sat outside by the pool area. There were no towels available to guests, the staff were just outside the pool area smoking cigarettes (where it was clearly marked no smoking)and talking loudly about another employee, rather complaining. I had broke my foot and was wearing a cast and when i asked the front desk employee where the elevator was she asked if i had a key, i replied no. She said you are required to have the guest come down and let you in. She clearly saw that i was just outside by the pool with my sister and my nieces and knew my sister coukdnot leave the children in the pool unattended to let me up the elevator. Customer service and professionaloism was lacking completely in this particular Red Roof Inn. I would definitely not stay or recvommend to family and friends.

I stayed overnight with my 3 boys (9, 4 and 2) and we enjoyed our time here. My car would not start the next morning after we had already checked out and the staff was kind enough to let us hang around and even offered to let us swim to pass time before out tow truck arrived. Very helpful and kind people working here!

This place is scary. Been here an hour, and extremely uncomfortable. I should have stayed across at the Super 8. Nicer rooms, fridge, microwave, firmer beds Less sketchy I dunno. I'll let you know if I make it through the night.
Oh, and the bathroom faucets drip.

Though in need of a few minor repairs this was a good place to crash for the night. Our room with was on the 3Rd floor. It was clean, comfortable & larger than I expected. The heater worked really well & warned us up quickly. The bathroom & towels were clean & the water got nice & hot. The wasn't much noise unless someone slammed their door shut. Staff was quite friendly & helpful. Breakfast was quite basic but it's something many cheaper hotels don't provide.

Update: after staying here a few different times I have to change my rating from 4 to 1. Main Reason: bed bugs. Ick!!

I did not stay here. However, I made reservations for a friend to stay here for an extended period of time so she could remove herself from a bad situation. The staff I spoke to was very helpful and accommodating, which I appreciated immensely. I needed a swift, hassle free process to get my friend out of where she was and that is what I got. No additional or unnecessary stress and actually felt such relief when I hung up the phone. To me that makes this place outstanding!

Red Roof Inn in Cedar Rapids was a great place to stop and stay. They had very friendly receptionist. She got me signed in quick. Got to have my dog stay with me for no extra charge so that was a plus. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked great. Room and bed were both bigger than I had expected them to be.

I don't understand the poor reviews. I've stayed here four times this past year and every time has been just fine. Even on my first visit the manager, Cheryl, was incredibly nice and polite. The housekeeping staff are usually bubbly and in good humor. I've almost choked laughing so hard at some of the shenanigans at the front desk while checking in. So what if the outside could use some work? Worst thing I ever noticed was them redoing the walkway on the second floor. My rooms have always been clean and beds comfy. Especially the inside rooms on the third floor. Even the wifi was good enough for me to have a stable connection with my computer and play some online games. I can't speak for everyone, but this has been my experience all four times.

Overall disgusting. Ghetto, many rooms were recently "smoking" and simply painted and now called "non-smoking" rooms. And they smell, of course, horrible! Back side drug deals are outrageous.. wouldn't bring kids here. Only thing keeping this from a solid 1 is the front desk employees were nice as hell. This brand, at.least in Cedar Rapids, used to be a quiet, stand up place. No longer..
