This was my 'go-to' restaurant for several years. I now only eat here when someone else suggests and I find that Real Seafood disappoints every time. The fish is typically over-cooked for my taste and the menu often has items that sound interesting but never live-up to the description - bland. The bread, which can be spectacular, is at times under cooked or, more often, over cooked. Either way, it is not good and not reliable. The red skin potatoes that came with my sister's birthday dinner were positively awful - shriveled and cooked until they were charred hard chunks that were impossible to eat even if it had been possible to get past the visual and taste. While one server in the last few years was spectacular, most seem indifferent to the experience of the diner. If you want to ensure your restaurant choice will deliver and justify the cost, many better choices are available.

Best seafood in the Ann Arbor area. I specially love their new England clam chowder when it's cold or rainy. Also any pasta dish will have fresh made pasta from their sister restaurant (Palios') right next door.

Went here for my birthday, though I'm not sure I got as much discount as described for 4 people. Waiter (Justin) was very nice and attentive. Food was excellent. King crab legs, salmon, steak, brussel sprouts, squash. I'd come back.

We were celebrating a very important family event in Ann Arbor. With the amazing choices this lovely city possesses for restaurants, we decided on Real Seafood Company.
We were not disappointed. The staff was extremely friendly and our server, Teri, was personable, efficient, professional and one of the best we have ever encountered. Thank you, Teri. The food could not have been better. Insanely delicious. Fresh! Beautifully plated! Mouth watering!
Also, we loved the atmosphere at Real Seafood. Thank you to Teri, the Chef, management and staff. You made our family event quite memorable.

We had lunch on a Monday & our waiter took his time and answered all of our questions nicely. The meal started off with fresh bread. The stuffed flounder was very good, I paid a $1.95 extra for the sweet potato slices which had a sweet crispy Edge that made it extra delicious & the meal came with good creamy coleslaw. My friend had the jumbo shrimp and said they were very good with the rice pilaf and coleslaw.

Has been our favorite for years, but we went in for our twentieth anniversary. Both orders were delivered changed from what we ordered. The more significant was that paella that in words and pictures featured half a lobster had no lobster. When asked, the waiter just said, "I forgot. We are out of that lobster. We replaced it with crab." There was no apology or offer to change anything. My wife's meal was to have included fried sweet potatoes, but was regular French fries instead. Given the response to the first change, we didn't even bother to mention it.
The quality of the food was still good, but for the price (which they did not decrease), one also expects excellent service.response / report this review -

Best Seafood in Ann Arbor. I've been here about a dozen times with my family and we've never had a bad meal. Their delicious bread goes great with the clam chowder. Usually I get one of the specials, otherwise I get the salmon. They are really picky with the seafood that they purchase so there's never a question about the quality. Coconut cream pie and chocolate brandy mousse are perfect for dessert lovers.

Fantastic atmosphere and beautifully prepared food. A must try. Note; Make reservations. This establishment has an excellent reputation and is very busy. Walk-in's could experience long wait times.

I have been going to The Real Seafood Company for forty years off and on. Before it became a part of a chain it was a stellar restaurant. When I lived in Ann Arbor I went often. Since I moved from Ann Arbor only about a couple times a year. It appears the same and their menu looks good and varied, and they are well known for their birthday discounts. However, the last time I went they said I did not have a reservation,even though I called ahead, and the last couple of times we have gone the food has come lukewarm. I had blackened fish and my wife had baked fish. Both of these dishes should have been piping hot. I will think twice before I make this restaurant my first choice, especially if I am driving 45 minutes to get there.

Great food! Service is outstanding. The appetizers we chose were fresh and well presented. The entrays were also fresh and generous. An all around good choice for dinner.
