Incredible food and atmosphere that has to be experienced to appreciate! Live music that sets the stage and prepares you for an outstanding meal of local cuisine. If traveling 301, well worth the stop and time well spent!

We drive over an hour for our dinner dates here and don't mind it one bit. We indulge on the combo dinner that comes with deer and duck, both are usually prepared and presented very well. We love the food atmosphere, music, staff and will continue to dine here any chance we get for as long as they are around. Our favorite date night out!

I've sampled many delicious items off the menu (i.e. gator tail, venison, conch fritters, quail, duck, frog legs), and I keep going back to the venison. Excellent flavor, and has a liver-esque after taste which is very savory. I also order the buttermilk pie for dessert. It's like a Hoosier (sugar) pie. Delicious.

Don't let the outside appearance turn you away. The food is delicious and you will find some unusual fair on the menu. We had lunch here and both the venison sandwich and the catfish sandwich and they were delicious. You can even purchase first edition copies of The Yearling here. They also have a full bar. We really enjoyed it.

I love the old Floridian style restaurant. I thoroughly enjoy the eldest gentleman singing blues, and some jazz along with his guitar. You can feel the history as soon as you walk through the door..Good ole home cooking.

Amazing atmosphere and food. Started with their famous fried green tomatoes (the dipping sauce is amazing), sweet tea, and then Blackened catfish on authentic cheese gritsdelicious. this is one of those places that I wish could remain a secretbut apparently someone wrote a book!! :-)

One of a kind, Old Florida restaurant named after the book by the local writer. The Yearling mirrors that memorabilia and atmosphere. Excellent menu you won't find elsewhere, great beverages from a full bar, and personal service. We celebrated a birthday with all ages and tastes. Their staff went out of their way to help with ideas to decorate and accommodating requests. Where do you find a live blues "Happy Birthday" song? Thank you, Willie! Go Gators!
