The service is bad only the staff is the most helpful but the doctor is really rude I was so surprised by how they treated people there I don’t not recommend this place at all
The office asked to change our appointment from 3:30 pm to 1:30 pm at 9 am on the morning of, which was fine. My grandma and I arrived at 1:15 pm and were not seen until 2:15 pm. We did not check out of the office until 3:20. After hours of being moved into different waiting rooms, the receptionist was unable to help us obtain the information we needed in order to pay. Then, the receptionist told us an overwhelmingly high amount, so we patiently waited for her to find someone to help. We were unable to pay, even though we signed an agreement to pay a certain amount that day. Instead of retrieving the form with the proper payment amount, we were told to call back on Monday which may push back my grandma's set surgery date.
I was referred here to help with an eye issue. After an extremely long wait time (over an hour) I got a generic handout and a prescription that my corporate insurance turned down. I went back for a followup appointment and after another hour+ wait time I got the same handout with a different prescription that also got turned down by my insurance. I then got a bill, as despite paying in the office insurance wasn't covering the visit enough. I'm not sure if they are pushing bad prescriptions for kickbacks or are simply incompetent, but I suggest avoiding them if possible
The waiting period was excessive, the lobby was packed with patients. I have had several eye examinations, none have been this uncomfortable.
Long wait times without apology, made me reschedule for prescription for my glasses without telling me that they'd charge another $50 and without telling me that they don't accept vision plans. When I came back, I was informed and I live an hour away.
The doctors think their time is immeasurably more important than their patients', especially when the weather is nice and golf takes a little longer over lunch.
Our grandson has a weakness in his right eye, and Dr. Jordan in both of our visits has taken great care in explaining what to do and how to strengthen his sight. He explained that if we used a patch over his good eye it may strengthen his weak eye - which it did! We did exactly what he recommended (use the patch every day for three hours for six weeks), and the results were amazing.
The practice is very caring, very professional, and Dr. Jordan is phenomenal with children.
It is important for the parents and caretakers to follow directions of the doctor to a T. Your results might not be as great as our experience, but they know what they are doing and nothing is better than to have done what you can to help a kid's eyesight.
The most horrible experience ever. I stopped in at 11:20 am because I had a half contact lens stuck in my eye. I was met with, "Well, you're catching us at lunch time" and "You're in our system, but we don't have a chart on you" "We can't see you without an appointment. The next one is in 2 hours." I was sobbing, in pain, quite literally begging for help, and they refused. If you want to patronize a company that does not care about PEOPLE, this is your place. I left for Eye Care Ctr at Crabtree, who saw me without question, pulled out the lens and didn't even charge me. Why? Because it was the right thing to do. The HUMAN thing to do. So I bought 2 pairs of glasses from them.
The past two times I've come I needed to sit in the waiting room for an hour after the time my appointment was scheduled.
Speed of appointment and getting in for procedure was EXCELLENT. My gripe with these folks has to do with their phone system. I have been in corporate world since before voice mail and I say without fear of contradiction, this is the WORSE voicemail system I have ever encountered.
I had a post procedure concern and it took me nearly 20 minutes and 10 or 11 calls to talk to a human being. The system hung up on me at least 8 times, didn't have my doctor listed in the surgical directory, and did not give any option to press anything to talk to a human. Pressing 9 to rehear options disconnected as did dialing any invalid extension. Whoever sold them this system ripped them off horribly.
I have been going to Raleigh Ophthalmology for 40 years and have always had a very positive experience. I have been refracted, checked for glaucoma, examined for any eye problems, had eye lid surgeryevery experience has been highly professional. Not only are the doctors, technicians and administrative personnel very competent, they are always friendly and encouraging. I have used the Blue Ridge office and the North Raleigh office off Durant Road. Never a problem with them and their prices have always been fair and competitive. I would highly recommend Raleigh Ophthalmology to anyone.
