Panama City, at least on the mainland side of the bridge away from Seaside and the edge of Destin where most of the money is isn't known for its art community.
Oh, there are exceptions such as the Visual Arts Center of long standing, Ms. Arrant and other individual artists but until the last few years not much of an 'Art Community' accessible on the mainland.
City Arts Cooperative on Luverne Ave in Panama City is doing a good bit to change that and has worked hard at creating a space for those interested and who WANT to be involved in the mostly visual arts can call a sort of home.
Not too long ago when you would look in what is left of the local paper all you would see were events/activities up and over the bridge on the beachside.
The City Arts Cooperative is changing all that and MANY of us are delighted about it!
